We put spare outfits in a ziploc bag and write her name on the bag. I know a friend used waterproof labels she stuck on the tags.

Waterproof stickers (also microwave/dishwasher/washer/dryer safe). I ordered ours through namebubbles.com on the recommendation of our daycare. Super cute and super easy to use.

We didn't label clothes. I put back up outfits in a labeled ziplock bag, but I didn't drive myself nuts trying to label every item of clothing LO ever wore to daycare.
We used Name Bubble labels for swaddle blankets.

Thanks ladies. I know a popular way to label bottles is with painter's tape. Has anyone tried painter's tape on clothing? if so, how did that work out?
