The other day I overheard someone who had trouble multiplying 12 * 200. Her friend called her out and asked her, "What is 12 times 2?" But she didn't know... she broke out the calculator app on her iPhone.
I don't have every single number in my 12 times table; 12 x 7 I have to do in my head and 12 x 9 too. And I have no idea what 12 x 11 is, unless I use a calculator.
I was wondering if kids should know their 12 times tables these days. Back when I was a kid, we only learned up to our 10 times tables... but I'm seeing more references to 11 and 12 times tables these days.
Do you know your 12 times tables? Will you teach them to your kids?
