@Bookworm: My cramps are slightly worse than on BCP, and periods are heavier, but not by that much. Before BCP they were awful. So they aren't entirely better than on the pill, but really hardly worse at all, and the rest of the time is much better. The downside is spotting that happens before AF- yuck.

@Bookworm: I wish I felt better, but I actually kinda miss being on BC! My cramps are awful and my skin is a hot mess. Even so, I will admit AF is shorter and I do enjoy not having to worry about taking a pill everyday

    @Hanzabelle: bummer! I'm sorry : (

Today is CD15 on my first cycle using the CBEFM and I got my first 'high' reading! Not sure how big of a deal skipping a day is, but yesterday morning I was with my nana when she died at 6:30am, so obviously it wasn't a good time to sneak off to POAS and CBEFM needs first morning urine. I've read some ppl get a lot of highs their first month, but sounds like theirs started earlier & with my anovulatory super long cycle history, it doesn't shock me that mine started later. I hope I get a peak!! I haven't been O'ing, but I got my period on my own this cycle so I'm hoping that means by body is starting to get itself on track. I could really use some good news, fingers crossed I get a peak reading soon!

@mrs. bird: yay for a high reading!! I'm sorry about your Nana, but I'm happy you were able to be there with her - I know that meant a lot to you. ((Hugs))

    @Hanzabelle: Booo

@mrs. bird: Sorry about your nana. Hope you get a peak reading soon.

I haven't tracked my temperatures this cycle because I needed to buy a new basal thermometer (lost my old one when we moved). I got it yesterday and took my temp this AM... and it was 98.2?! That's a temp I'd see after I ovulated, and I'm only CD 11. So confused... maybe it was just a fluke thing? This is why I hate charting, because I obsess over my temps!

  10. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Pepper: Thermometers can also be very different, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Plus they say it's not one temp that matters, but the temp trend. Wait and watch for a few days and you may have a better sense of where you're at in your cycle.

So I have an announcement... the DH and I have decided to start TTC again! The past couple months have been really good and the time off from TTC and resolving some life issues has really helped A LOT!! It's actually great timing. My fertile week starts today and my birthday is tomorrow. Fingers crossed that we can do it on our own without fertility. If it doesn't happen this month, I'll call the doc and get started on an IUI for the next month. EEEEEK!! I'm so happy!

So put me on the list! Planning on POAS Oct 26th ish.
When we stopped TTC a few months ago, I believe I'm on cycle 8 or 9.

I'm in shock that my DH and I were both thinking about TTC again. Things are falling into place for us. So happy!

@bluestriped bee: hurray! That's really great that you guys were able to take time to work on your relationship & get it rock solid before bringing a baby into it. I'm excited for you that you're ready to start to TTC again! I know you guys were doing some IF testing ect before you took your break, is IUI where you'd left off before?

  13. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@mrs. bird: Yup, that was the next step. It was so hard hearing what my fertility doctor wanted to do next when I was going tell her at the end of our session that we were going to take some time off. I was probably wasting her time but I wanted to hear the steps.

I'm suppose to contact her when I started AF but it has already been a couple weeks so this first month we will be on our own.

@Pepper: @kentuckygirl: Thanks ladies! @Rachel: It was! The very end was actually much more peaceful than I expected, she was surrounded by love, in her home, with people that loved her. We were able to keep her fairly comfortable so I'm very much at peace with it. Thanks for your kind words & cyber hugs

Hi ladies, I haven't posted here much, but I'm officially in the TWW! I had my embryo transfer on Thursday and will have my first blood test next Saturday (10/13). It has been a couple of months since our first IVF, so I haven't had a real TWW for awhile. Darn it is tough not to symptom spot - how could I have forgotten?! Best wishes to everyone and I'll try to check in more often!

  17. mrs. bird

    bananas / 9628 posts

@GreenThumb: yay! Congrats on your transfer. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for a BFP for you this time! Do you think you'll be able to hold out POAS until sat? I was so impressed when a friend of mine did her IVF & held out testing on her own for the blood test. I don't think I'd have the discipline not to

  18. BSB

@GreenThumb: Aww thanks for thinking of me!

Congrats on your embryo transfer and welcome back to the TWW! Thinking and sending lots of baby dust your way!!!

@ambular1025: That's true, I didn't really consider the difference a thermometer change could make. Guess I'll just wait and see!

@GreenThumb: Yay for being in the TWW! Fingers crossed for you!

@MrsCastro: I ovulated late this month, so could you move my POAS date to 10/22? I'm not actually sure when I O-ed, because I had trouble sleeping for a few days so may have had artificially high temps, but that should be in the ball park. Figures the first month of trying I can't tell when I O! I'm just glad to finally have a shot!
I have to make a confession-- I used to read about people in the TWW and think they were a little crazy and obsessive. Like, just relax and wait, duh. I'm eating my words now!

@mrscastro - can you move my POAS date up to 10/17? I O'd earlier than I was expecting

@foodnerd81 @bookworm Tell me about it!! I didn't really get the big deal with the TWW before we started trying, but now I'm 6DPO and time has never moved slower. I just want to knoooooow.

I'm going to need my POAS date moving down to about the 21st October I'd say, please - sorry! I'm having a craaaazy cycle this time!! My temps showed O but then OPKs showed a surge, like, a days later! Confused!!!!

@Alivoo01: @Ali: I know but testing on Monday might be too early...and testing while i am away for 4 days...no fun...if i got good news i wouldnt be able to keep it from him and i also wouldnt want to tell him over skype...

  33. Cherrybee

@MrsCastro: Good point. I'm sure we can wait 4 days if you can...!

  34. Foodnerd81

@MrsCastro: I would do the same thing and wait, even though I'd be going crazy thinking about it. I'd still rather fixate on the what if than have to deal with the news on my own (either news).

HI everyone. I'm 14-16 dpo (temps were a bit weird this month). I poas yesterday and got a BFN. I felt discouraged and so didn't test today. I'm peeing every hour but haven't had any other real symptoms. I'm dying over here. I want to get a BFP pretty badly and feel good thus far. AF is 1 day late, and I got a 2nd temp spike 2 days ago, so I'm not out yet. I'm totally obsessed with it right now though.

  36. Alivoo01

    wonderful olive / 19353 posts

@MrsCastro: Fine, I'll reason with logic this ONE time. haha!

@ourwiredlives: Sounds promising! I didn't get a BFP until like 16/17DPO which was 4 days past AF's scheduled arrival. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@Alivoo01: LOL...I promise if i have good news before i leave i will post...

  38. Foodnerd81

    wonderful cherry / 21504 posts

@ourwiredlives: Ooh good luck. I would be totally obsessed too. Even when we were preventing and I knew it was really really unlikely I was STILL obsessed if AF was a day late.
