My RE said to go ahead and try naturally this cycle (and continue on to an IUI next cycle if we're not pregnant). However, I had acupuncture today and she highly recommends we wait at least 2, if not 3 months to start trying at all. She says my uterus needs more time to heal before carrying a baby. I really respect her opinions, but I feel like my RE is more of an expert. Who's opinion would you trust more?

If you are trusting your RE with treatments I would go with his advice. Plus I think endo has a high re-ocurance rate so i would want to use those definitely endo free months.

Tough one! I know people who attribute their TTC success due to their acupuncturist. Based on what you've shared, however, I'd go with the RE. You're so excited and ready to move forward, and you have a medical professional saying it's ok.
I go to a RE b/c I believe them to be experts in the field, so I know who I would listen to.

RE. I actually quit going to acupuncture because she contradicted my RE so adamantly (among other things, we just didn't seem to click). I know there is specific training for every specialty area, but it really upset me the way she was telling me my specialist was doing things wrong. I also found no research to support the things she was telling me.

@Snowdrop: Exactly this. If it wasn't endo, I might would say take the chance, but you've already been through so much - just keep your eyes on the prize!

After my lap, my doctor gave us a very short window to try naturally before starting IVF - because my form of endo (per the pathology report) is so aggressive and fast-growing, my doctor did not want us to risk it re-growing and re-creating fertility problems. I say try.

RE. There's a reason why doctors are so trusted - 4 years of medical school, plus 3-4 year residency. They have the knowledge and experience that pretty much no other profession has.

Your heart. You probably have a gut instinct and it is often right and that is the way you should go. You know your body and your know your past. You also know what you can or cannot handle (2 more months of waiting I couldn't do it myself).

Your RE. Remember that it was your RE who discovered the endo in the first place, not the acupuncturist, and you're in a good position to move forward thanks to this RE! Your acupuncturist should be able to support you while you pursue treatment with the RE.
