For a little background, my 10 month old was born hungry and that hasn't changed one bit. As an infant he wanted to nurse constantly and once we switched to formula, he was downing 7oz bottles like shots. When we introduced solids, he finished his very first bowl of oatmeal. Literally licked it clean. And will eat anything now. I know this is a good thing when so many moms struggle to get their kids to eat at all, but I worry that he is a bottomless pit. The only time (once in 10 months) he didn't finish a bottle was the day he ended up being admitted to the pediatric ICU for a week for RSV. He has never not finished a meal. Will spend 5 minutes picking up the little crumbs left behind. And I'm pretty sure I'm not underfeeding him - he eats a grilled cheese (one slice of bread in half) and a 4oz container of mixed veggies for lunch. I'm attaching a picture of a sample dinner. It's a lot of food, but he eats it all! So...

How do I know how much to give him when he cleans his plate no matter what? I worry that I am setting him up to overeat. He's a big kid - 31 inches and 22 lbs at 9 months - so I know his caloric needs may be higher than a smaller 10 month old, but I still worry that I'm overfeeding him. And the comments I get about his being chubby don't help that feeling!

Anyone else have an "eater?" How did you decide how much to give your LO?
