So, I had to go to urgent care yesterday for a likely kidney infection/kidney stone. I had a feeling my supply was dropping but wasn't sure. I just pumped and only got 2 oz....so cue freak out. Should I call my ob? An LC? Ughhhhh!!!!!!

Are you on medications? Do you know if they're OK to take while BFing? Check Kellymom if you have doubts?
It could also be stress related?

@locavore_mama: I just called my ob in a panic. They will call back. Gave me a shot and antibiotics at urgent care that they said were okay to have while breastfeeding. Ughhhhhhhhh.

@matador84: I wonder if "okay" is safe for baby or "okay" as in also won't affect your supply? If it's just a one time shot hopefully you will bounce back once it leaves your system!

@locavore_mama: I hope so. I usually pump 6-7/session and barely got 2.

No advice but just wanted to say I hope you figure it out! I've found that doctors have not been super forthcoming in telling me to take meds and explaining what effect it may have on my milk. My surgeon told me to take zantac and never told me it goes through the milk to the baby. And my OB's office told me I could take sudafed no problem, whereas my LC said that could dry me up in just one dose! (if not all the way then at least seriously reduce my supply).

No real advice, but when I was breastfeeding I got a sinus infection and I found that just being sick really tanked my supply for a few days (I think it was just because my body was fighting the illness, and not because of the meds), but once I started feeling better my supply went right back up.
Make sure you drink LOTS of water. I also started drinking Mother's Milk tea to help my supply during that time.

Rest, destress, drink water, pump/nurse a ton. Think about taking fenugreek.
