I've been making LO's food for almost 3 months. I got a couple of recipes from a baby food making class in my neighborhood and I use my Babybullet recipe book and http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/. I wing it a lot more often now and LO will have what we are having for dinner, too.
I do my cooking on Sundays. I have a decent amount of frozen food, but I like to cook on Sundays to introduce her to a new item.

I make a batch whenever i have a little extra time, on weekends or after E's bedtime. I have a magic bullet I use to puree everything and then freeze it in ice cube trays. Once its frozen I pop the cubes out and store them in a ziploc in the freezer. At mealtime I just grab a few cubes of whatever and microwave for 30-45 seconds.

I was given the "Weelicious" cookbook by a friend and I do use it, but I also find that the website has almost everything that's in the book. The author has a lot of interesting combination ideas for babies, toddlers and even older kids, too.
As a SAHM I'm lucky enough to have the time to cook whenever, so I don't really have a plan. As far as amounts, it can just depend on what I'm making. Like, a decent-sized butternut squash can yield 12-16 servings for my LO (7.5 months old), whereas 3 apples might just get me 6 or 7 servings of applesauce. I just try and make sure I always have 2 or 3 types of vegetable options and 2 or 2 types of fruit at all times.

I started by making a couple of batches of baby food and freezing in ice cube trays. I'd make a couple of batches every week and before I knew it I had a ton of baby food.
Its so much easier than I thought to make baby food.

With DD, I would steam/puree/freeze in ice cube trays on Saturdays or Sundays when I had more time; the cubes would then go into ziplock bags where I could take out however many cubes I needed each meal. I never really made any specific recipes but would either mix purees when thawing them or puree whatever we had eaten. DD is an awesome and adventurous eater so I will likely do this with DS too.

I have been making my own baby food for just over 2 months. I follow ideas from wholesomebaby food website, I also get inspiration from the mumi & bubi site. but for th emost part I just come up with my own ideas

@Bao: You just fill it with your puree like a regular ice cube tray, except that these are much larger and eah cube is 1oz unlike other ice cube trays. once the food is frozen you just push on one side of the "cube" and it slides right out since the base is round

@mrsbells: those look cool and easier to get the food out of than regular ice cube trays.
I measured how much my ice cube trays held so I could keep track of DD's intake; can't remember exactly but think it was either 2 or 4TBSP

@mediagirl: Oh that isnt my personal photo. Thats a photo from their site. So I'm not sure what that is. My LO hasnt had spinach yet. I will wait till she is a bit older.

I just started. Mushed fruits, steamed and mushed or ground down veggies and cooked fruits. Yogurt, cream of wheat, whatever. Just go with your instincts.

@Bao: @Mrsbells: I have this tray, too. I like it, although the food is not that easy to get out sometimes and I have to push and push. I usually transfer the food to a ziploc bag so that I can have more space in the freezer. I like that it's exactly 1 ounce.
@mediagirl: My LO has had spinach: she has had spinach/chicken and spinach/sweet potato but her favorite is spinach sauteed in a little olive oil with garlic.

@mediagirl - I've given LO spinach mixed with pears and she liked it. She's also had plain broccoli, which I was surprised she ate.

@LaineysMom: You can use a regular blender. I was gifted the Babybullet but I wouldn't have bought it for myself.

I haven't really followed any recipes but do now mix purees and have started mashing up banans, avocados, and some other food to get her more used to thicker consistencies. I use the Beaba silicone freezer containers and love them since they are about the same size as a small jar of baby food. I'm going to check out that website though for some ideas. I'd like to start mixing in some lentils, spinach, and other more nutrient dense foods.
I will make a batch here or there and freeze it, or sometimes do a bunch on the weekends. Once they set, I pop them out and put them in a ziploc freezer bag that is labeled. I grab from those as needed and then have a back up supply of organic jar food in case I need it. I'm surprised how simple and convenient it is actually.
