My son's nanny is making his baby food for him, but I'm not sure about the best way to store it. I bought her the Baby Brezza first, but she didn't like it and prefers to use our Cuisinart blender instead. She is putting the purees in our Tupperware for now, but I need a better solution, especially for freezing.
What are the best ways to freeze/store homemade baby food?

I haven't started this but have looked into it. I have read that ice cube trays are good because it's in 1oz portions then you throw them into a ziploc bag!
They also sell little 2-3oz tupperware specifically for storing baby food as well. Like THESE Just search for baby food storage on Amazon!

I have also heard about ice cube trays. The baby bullet comes with small jars for storing food in the fridge as well as an ice cube tray for the freezer. I want to use those jars

I highly recommend ice cube trays with lids! Each cube is one ounce so it's easy to track their intake. After the purée freezes, I put them in ziploc bags. Then you can mix/match too - so a cube of sweet potato and cube of carrot microwaved and there you have it!

We liked the Ball Canning jars. We used the plastic ones but there are also glass ones. They are a convient size and stack. We still use them as small tupperware containers.

I used regular ice cube then transferred the frozen cubes into gallon sized ziplock freezer bags labeled with item (sweet potatoes, peaches and squash look awful similar once pureed) and date they were made. i would then pull out one or two cubes and let thaw in fridge overnight or by microwave. My ice cube trays ended up holding 2T of food so I was able to keep track of how much DD was eating at at time.

Baby cubes are what we used. We have the Baby Brezza and I love it! I still use it and LO is 11 months.

I froze the food in ice cube trays and then put them in ziplock freezer bags which I labeled with the food and expiration date. I'd just stick what I needed to defrost in the fridge the night before.

@mrsbells - I would use the defrost setting in the microwave, and then slightly microwave it for about 10 seconds afterwards. Then I made sure to stir and taste so there wouldn't be any random hot spots!

I used these Beaba trays. Each "ball" was the perfect size portion for one feeding. Once he got older and started eating more, I'd mix two "balls". I love that they are made of silicone and come with lids. They're a little pricey but SO worth it. I bought 4 of them and I still use them now to make/freeze apple sauce, spaghetti sauce, soups, etc.

I popped one/two balls out and either microwaved them or let it defrost. Sometimes i would put the balls in a steam-safe bowl and steam them to to heat them up.
I've also used ice cube trays in the past but I didn't like how small each cube was. I had to fill up TONS of ice cube trays and it started getting tiring. So I switched to these Beaba trays. Once they're frozen, you can the portions out and put them in ziploc bags so that you can reuse the tray again.

thanks for the great suggestions. I was interested in using the ice cube trays, but wanted to get some feedback from others who had done it. @banana - those trays look awesome too. I wish they didn't cost so much.

@BabyBruins: I used silicone ice cube trays. They're bigger then the average ice cube tray so you get more food in there, and they're very easy to get the food out.

That's the only downside. They're kinda pricey. But I've been able to get so much use out of them that I think they're worth it.
