LO was a boob monster until 11 months, then it was like a switch flipped. She would nurse if I offered, but she gradually stopped asking for it. By 1 year we were down to 2-3 feeding a day, and a few weeks later down to one. Super easy!

My DD wasn't a fan of solids initially, she still doesn't really like finger foods and she is never one to turn down a boob. She is turning 1 in a couple of days and I will probably start weaning her soon. Like you at teh 7 month mark I was kinda worried but around 8 months she started eating waaay more of her purees which helped a lot.

Your DD will be fine. I'm gradually moving to the don't ask don't offer system for daytime feeds. I will leave morning and night as they are for now.

My nursaholic is still going strong at 21 months. She was immediately interested in food, but never lost interest in nursing. I've done decently with cutting down the frequency, but I think she'll nurse until 5 if I don't cut her off at some point. You may get to that point yourself, if she's not interested in quitting on her own.

DS self weaned at 21 months. He was a total boob monster and I was going to wait until he was 2 to start actually weaning, but he just didn't nurse to sleep one night and never asked for it again! At the time he weaned he was still nursing 4-5 times a day and 2-5+ at night, so still very much full time at that age. I never thought something like that would happen. He always needed to nurse to sleep. We got ~12 oz of breastmilk a day until he was 2.

Btw, DS is a terrible solids eater! He hardly eats most days, tbh. He does get supplemented with a nutritional supplement (toddler formula) for children 1+ because of his lack of solids and limited diet due to food allergies (FPIES).

@NovBaby1112: she definitely eats more solids than she did then. we started juuuust shy of 6 months, but started with one 2-oz meal a day, then slowly upped to one 4-oz meal, then two meals, and now she eats 3 meals a day with a snack thrown in somewhere. definitely was a work in progress! but i remember having a slight breakdown at the same time wondering when I'd ever get my boobs back.

So I stopped nursing when we were out and it probably would have gone quicker if I followed that up with other limits, once she learned them she usually accepted them.

Sometimes offering food when she asked to nurse helped. But what's finally helped is me being pregnant and not making much milk and telling her that baby needs the milk now. She just turned 2 so I think she's ready and nursing while pregnant just is not pleasant for me so I'm ready. She still asks occasionally though but usually accepts that baby needs the milk now.

I was starting to worry because L spit out all solids... but then it's like one day she just got it. Now she likes eating, which is a relief because I was starting to stress about it. So just keep trying, try to make her wait 3 hours between nursing sessions, too...

I have a boob monster - 11mo and 5/6x a day 2ish times overnight - he didn't love solids until he was about 10mo. He now loves solids but hasn't cut back on the nursing. He is MSPI so I just go with it. Once he outgrows either milk or soy I will most likely stop pumping during the day and just on demand at home.

@NovBaby1112: that is still up in the air! i haven't actually given him any dairy/soy directly and pedi wants to wait until he is about 18mo to introduce. I think I'd like to trial soy at the end of the summer to see how that goes. I am not in a rush though - we're happy and healthy so I don't want to mess with a good thing.
