@mrskansas: thanks, my queasiness and sore boobs point to doubling but who knows

@snarkybiochemist: Yeah it's hard to tell if it's the extra progesterone or hCG but either way, it's a good sign!

@snarkybiochemist: Yep you have no reason not to be. Enjoy the process as much as possible!

Follicle scan tomorrow at 4. They are ordering my trigger shot.
I'm staying as positive as possible that my egg will be ready to go!

@mrskansas: thanks and good luck with a follicle and triggering

Soooo distracted today. Reading up about implantation and whatnot to feed my obsession.
But I have a huge story about lead in the water that's airing next week that I really need to focus on!

@bizwitch: nope, I will tell my boss after I hear the heartbeat (since I work with chemicals it has to be done early) and we are planning on telling parents around easter and then mothers day for extended family and likely won't post to facebook until viability. We are super super private people.

@bizwitch: yea not looking forward to seeing all of my family this weekend for my dads birthday and having to lie. Part of me really wants to shout it from the roof tops since this was hard but a bigger part of me wants to keep this for myself until its really real (also since it was hard)

@snarkybiochemist: Yeah I totally feel you. I have no idea if I'll be able to keep it in if/when we finally get pregnant. All my work besties know we've been trying so if I turn them down for happy hour more than once they're going to start asking questions!
Good luck this weekend!

@bizwitch: friends know we are trying and also know that I will share when I'm ready so I hope I can keep it from them until at least 12 weeks, facebook at viability will be the easiest my random friends from high school and past jobs do not need to know until then

anyone know what happens if your LH starts to surge before you can trigger w/ Ovidrel?
I'm noticing a ton of watery CM which usually happens 2 days prior to O.

Just had my OB appointment. I officially have PCOS (whee! ).
We decided to move forward with Femara once I get my next period (whenever that is). But she also encouraged for me to schedule a consultation with an RE. So we'll do the med for 3 cycles and see how it goes. Hopefully, this cycle (and future ones) won't be a long one! I'm a little bummed, but still hopeful.

@madisonbee: I'm sorry about the diagnosis but now you have answers & a plan!
And luckily there are a bunch of others here w/ PCOS that will be great resources for you.
pear / 1677 posts
@mrskansas: Yes, I'm thankful that there's a reason for this all and a plan set in place. It was a little rough when she handed me the brochure to the fertility place across the street, but it could be worse.

@madisonbee: I never thought I would have to go to a RE after my first pregnancy, but it isn't as bad as you think. They are super smart, very responsive and helpful.
I left a message with a nurse this morning and they called me back within 30 minutes with an appointment time & prescription ready to be called in. My OB is much, much slower than that. So there are some plus sides.
ETA: When you do get pregnant, you'll also get betas & early ultrasounds and with an OB you usually won't be seen until 10 or 12 weeks
pear / 1677 posts
@mrskansas: Oh, I totally understand. The only reason I'm about the RE is I have friends who didn't like their experience there (false hopes, bedside manner sucks, etc). I suppose I could go to the only other option in town since insurance doesn't cover ANYTHING.

I just paid $100 for the trigger shot. ONE SHOT!
I know it's not that much but for some hCG it seems ridiculous.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@madisonbee: I'm not an expert but I have PCOS and took femera for 2 cycles if you have questions. I have really liked seeing an RE and felt well taken care of, my regular OB/GYN won't prescribe femera or clomid and wants you to see an RE for testing.
@mrskansas: and I complained about $50 for ovidrel + $45 for a 2 week supply of progesterone. I hate that there isn't better insurance coverage for this stuff
nectarine / 2813 posts
@snarkybiochemist: It sucks. And if I get home & my OPK is positive I'm really not going to be happy, lol.
I'm just thankful that my insurance covers Heparin. It's $8 per shot and I have to take it every day for the course of a pregnancy

@mrskansas: My first cycle on clomid I think at CD 10 or 11 my LH was over 24 but my progesterone was something like .2 so they knew I hadn't ovulated. So they kept monitoring me, the progesterone in particular and then had me trigger at CD 13 I think. I stopped doing OPKs during these monitored cycles so I have no idea when it would have turned positive. Did they give you a time to trigger?
pear / 1553 posts
@madisonbee: Sorry about your diagnosis. I hope the RE can help you find some solutions.
nectarine / 2813 posts
@snarkybiochemist: No. My follicles weren't ready yesterday or they would have given me the shot right then.
I have another ultrasound tomorrow at 4 and if they have grown more, they'll give me a time to trigger.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@mrskansas: ah ok, fingers crossed this turns out ok for you
nectarine / 2813 posts
@snarkybiochemist: I think it will be ok. Just seems like I respond a bit slower to Clomid which I guess can be normal.
I just feel like my OPK will be positive based on CM so I don't know what happens in that case.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@mrskansas: i have no answers about positive OPK and trigger. I would have sex tonight though
nectarine / 2813 posts
@snarkybiochemist: Yes we've been doing it every day just in case.
If my OPK is negative when I get home then I won't worry about it, and odds are, it will be. I've heard that Ovidrel can help to thicken lining so I'm really hoping I can use it.

@mrskansas: I bet you never thought you would be excited to give your self a shot
nectarine / 2813 posts
@snarkybiochemist: Well, I will not be giving it to myself! That's terrifying. My husband was a medic years ago so he will be doing all shots
nectarine / 2813 posts
@snarkybiochemist: well yeah I never thought I would be hoping for it, haha. but honestly after I was induced and ended up with a c-section, nothing scares me.
Are you off work from the snow storm?
