@chibee: I'm with ya - that's definitely my biggest regret! I was worried about other post-BC effects - skin, weight, moods, etc. I never even considered this! I figured my cycles were normal before BC when I was a teenager and I would break through bleed on BC so I thought it'd be simple! Far from it!

@LindsayInNYC: The only post BC effect I experienced was my skin breaking out - but that, thank the lord, has gone away. I think I actually lost some weight when I went off BC but I think that might have been a fluke?? My cycles played tricks on me right after I went off BC - first cycle off BC - totally normal 29 day cycle, and that is the last time I had such a short cycle. Since then, it's been anywhere between 31-47 days!!! Right now I'm on CD42 for crying out loud and 9/10 DPO. I do think I might have underlying issues (maybe low progesterone? not ovulating? although I chart/opk) but I'm really hoping it took this cycle because ttc is TIRING.

@chibee: I'm with ya on the tiring part! You can see from my chart that we were pretty diligent with the EOD leading up to O. Since then DH was sick and now I'm sick. But, not gonna lie, the break is kinda nice I went off BF in early December - had my first period afterwards and only one since. So we've technically been TTC for 3ish months now but only 2 cycles. Super frustrating!

@chibee: @LindsayInNYC: can I say an amen to this? We've taken much of a break over this last month after spotting on CD27. When it gets easier to track in weeks, it's ridiculous - I think I am on CD65. I cannot WAIT til these blood results get back and I can start Provera. On the off chance that I am one of those rare women who don't secrete HCG in urine, I could be up to 9 weeks. Sadly, despite the bloating and the boobs, I don't think it's the case. It's far more likely that it's a big waste of time and that my body is broken. I'm so tired of this already. Only two chances in four and a half months

@SweetMamaM: YES!!! CD57 (I think?) and everything seems to post to me Oing 7-8 days ago (I can't remember exactly now, LOL) so that's the only thing keeping me from calling my doctor. But having two weeks of EOD BDing is one thing - doing that for FOUR+ WEEKS is A LOT!! I'm with ya - this is our second chance since early/mid December. I'm so annoyed. I just want AF so I can booze now

@LindsayInNYC: oh my god do I want a beer?! It's officially been declared a drought in NZ and we're having those ridiculously dry hot days. I'm not even usually a beer girl but it's like the perfect weather for it. Seven weeks without drinking over here!

@LindsayInNYC: @chibee: with everything I have experienced on BC & off it ttc, I am defently anti BC.
Any future children will go to catholic school and learn NFP as part of their curriculum. I will encourage they use the natural methods & condoms (even though they are against our faith) I want my kids to be healthy & safe. Naturally I want them to wait, but if they are anything like DH & I were screwed!

@SweetMamaM: Are you not drinking while TTC? DH is very against it and I'm respecting his wishes... I said I'd only drink when AF is in town. But it's been almost 2 months now! I didn't realize it would be so long in between!
pear / 1743 posts
@LindsayInNYC: no, I'm more in the drink til it's pink crowd but then wondered whether the 24 hours of spotting I had was implantation bleeding and I haven't had a drink since. So that was like seven weeks ago. I'm not a huge drinker anyway - maybe 1-2 standard drinks a week. Just craving a beer lately, but it's not worth it on the off chance that I am - I teach a kid with FAS and I would never do that to a child.

@Mrs. J: @runnerd: Thanks ladies! I'm so nervous. I hate feeling like this is it. I don't wanna be disappointed again.

@Ash: Oh lady, I so hope this is it for you!
@SweetMamaM: @LindsayInNYC: I have not been drinking during TTC either, but AF showed her ugly, stupid F@*#ing face this morning and it was DH's birthday so I drank 1 margarita and I'm buzzzzzed. Sigh. I wonder how bad it will be after 10 months?

@mrsdoily: I tell you what, the night I get the results of my bloods and they are neg for hcg, I am cracking open a beer and having it all to myself. It's been so long I'll probably be the same! I do not blame you at all for going to Margarita town lol

@SweetMamaM: Heck yeah! I really hope that hcg is not negative though... I hope you get that wonderful sticky baby! But I totally don't blame you if you don't!!

@Ash: She is. That stupid biotch. Hopefully next month she will do me a favor and keep her ugly face hidden...lol.

@mrsdoily: haha I hope so too, otherwise I have been all bloated and hormonal for nothing. But I think it would be pretty rare.

@mrsdoily: Sorry to hear about AF Hoping next month is your month.
@chibee: @LindsayInNYC: My cycles were all out of whack when I stopped taking my BC. I actually went off of it a full year before TTC to try to get a normal cycle back. I hope your cycles get back to normal soon!

@Sugar.Biscuit: I'm not necessarily anti BC, but I feel so much better without it. I was on for 10 years and have been off for about 24 months. There are still months where I feel like I am still learning what my body is doing! It has been a lot easier to work out underlying health issues off it as well.

Whoa. Left to right, this is my OPK from Thursday, two from Friday (afternoon and evening), and then just now (Saturday). Could it be?
My nipples also started getting suspiciously sensitive/sore late last night.
Game on!

@Sugar.Biscuit: I completely agree with you, I will definitely be recommending use of condoms to our children before any other form of BC. I often wonder whether being on depo provera actually started my PCOS issues.

@pui: ugh, seems like Feb/March has been the month of weird cycles! Fingers crossed for you to have a resolution one way or the other.

Had positive peak opk on thursday & DTD. I still had O pains Friday morning but DH hurt to bad to do anything. I have had nothing none sense. Do you think I'm out of time to BD or should we try and squeeze another in? I've been super dry this cycle and considering buying preseed anyone have sucess with it?

Gah, my Facebook has been hit with a spate of birth announcements for SECOND babies... I have a bad case of the green-eyed monster blues.

@Sugar.Biscuit: We used conceive plus, as I had read reviews of false positives when using pre seed (not sure how reliable the reviews I read were, but didn't want to take my chances). It was light and not sticky, and we got our BFP after using it! Good luck!
pomelo / 5326 posts
@Sugar.Biscuit: we had success with preseed! I love the stuff, would definitely keep using it as a regular lube if it wasn't so darn expensive. I didn't use the applicators though, just used externally like regular lube.

@MrsCastro: anything??
@Ash @MrsH how are you guys doing? I can't believe I've held out this long - I am at 11/12 DPO and I'm not too anxious to test - I'm just praying AF stays away at this point. I'm even thinking about only testing once AF doesn't show up by Wednesday - is that crazy or what! I've tested at 5 DPO once haha!!!

I am offically in the tww again this month & its nerve racking! I've gone and gotten my hopes up. You would think that after 13 cycles & a MC one might be a little more seasoned & chill during the tww...tick tock tick tock
cherry / 131 posts
@Sugar.Biscuit: Depends what you mean by success. I can't speak to its success in terms of conception, but we've used Preseed a bit here and there externally just like @Delight does, just to get things rolling.
It works fairly well for us, except I find it is more prone to drying quickly when exposed to air than other lubes are. A little does seem to go a long way when it's used internally. I just deposited a dab using my finger, and things got super slippery.

@Cara M. 17: @delight: @ladybee: thanks ladies! I went and picked up preseed last night. Its the only fertility friendly lube I could find & it was on sale for 19. We were out of time to BD so I'll hold on to it encase we need it next month. FX we won't!

@Sugar.Biscuit: This will sound weird but we hated preseed and after some research found that canola oil is actually recommended and totally fertility friendly. We loved it and for about $2-$4 it's much cheaper! Hopefully you don't need to worry about it because you're in the TWW, but thought I'd share just in case you end up not liking the preseed.
