My LO has measured one week ahead consistently, from his 8-week ultrasound to his 18-week ultrasound, to the fundal height measurements my doctor is doing these days. I am wondering, for those of you whose babies measured ahead while in the womb, did you actually give birth ahead of your due date? Is there any correlation or am I just going to have a large, on-time, baby (again)?

I consistently measured ahead and went into labour two weeks early. Thank goodness, he was 9lbs 5oz.

I am hesitant to put too much stock in these things... I think I read somewhere that after a certain point (maybe 12 weeks) the measurements are useless. As you get farther along, they use head circumference and femur length to determine in utero weight, and those predictions always seem to be completely off. I was told, at 34 weeks, that my baby would be at least 9.5 lbs. Cue freak out. Guess what? She wasn't.
However...
After 6 months of measuring right on time, I started measuring "ahead" during the third trimester and everyone kept telling me I was going to deliver early. My water broke at 38w5d and DD was born at exactly 39 weeks. She was 7 lbs. 14 oz. -
I was measuring behind and delivered 8 days before my due date. I think it is just so they can help determine that the baby is healthy rather than determine how much ahead or behind you are.

I consistently measured one to two weeks ahead and had my baby the day after his due date. Oh and my kiddo was 9 lbs 5 oz.

Early but I was induced. At 36 weeks she was measuring 40 weeks and estimated to be close to 8-9lbs. After still measuring large a few weeks later I was induced at 39 and she was over 9 lbs.

LO constantly measured one week ahead and arrived 8 days early, compared to my LMP date.

I always measured right in track and she was born the day before my due date, 8 lbs 1 oz. I didn't have any late ultrasounds but by feel they thought she would be about 7 lbs and change.

I measured ahead and had a large baby - c section at 39 weeks. But there were zero signs of labor so I'm thinking he would have made it to his due date or later.

I measured way ahead (3+ weeks) with S and went at 39 weeks. Huge baby.

Thanks guys, seems like a little bit of a crapshoot lol! I still hold out hope for an early baby, since my first two always measured right on track and both were born within a day or 2 of EDD.

My LO measured 2-3 weeks ahead starting at 21 weeks (I had GD and monthly ultrasounds). I'm not much help because I had a scheduled c section at 39 weeks, but I didn't go into labor before then. He was pretty big (8 lb 13 oz) and I'm sure he would've been over 9 lbs if we waited later.

I measured 1 week ahead with DD - induced at 39w6d, she was 8.07lbs.
I measures 2 weeks ahead with DS - induced at 39w0d, he was 9.6lbs

@whodat: I measured ahead the whole time with N, and I had a sneaking suspicion that my due date would be off... and she was born 10 days early! She was 7 lbs 15 oz so not sure how much more she could've cooked in my belly, but I think my due date was just wrong the whole time.
With J, I measured on track and he was born 2 hours before his due date.

I measured ahead at my 9 week ultrasound, enough that they changed my due date. I was measuring on target for my adjusted due date. I went into labor naturally five days before my new earlier due date and gave birth to a healthy and good sized baby.
