I freeze in lansinoh baggies. Works well for me!

I used Lansinoh milk storage bags for freezer storage. I stored refrigerated breast milk in glass bottles.

I pumped into Medela bottles, saved up for a couple days, and then froze in Lansinoh bags. The bags worked very well for me - I didn't have any rips or issues.

I'm also a fan of freezing in the honeysuckle bags like @Mrs Green Grass: ...also I froze some in ice cube trays when we started solids to mix with purées, etc.

I keep 8-12oz in the fridge and rotate it for LO's feedings (EP). When I store in the freezer I store in Medela bags, upright.

When we first started giving DS a bottle, I stored some in the fridge in the bottles. DH went out of town (he was usually the one giving the bottle) and I started freezing in milk trays. They freeze in 1-oz sticks. Once they are frozen, I transfer them into plastic zip-top freezer bag.

@pastemoo: I use Sensible Lines. http://www.sensiblelines.com. I bought mine at a cloth diaper store, but you can get them at BBB or on Amazon. The only problem I've had is making sure I have a level surface in the freezer so that the milk doesn't spill out of the tray. Once I solved that problem, they are great! I prefer them over the storage bags because they are reusable, not just recyclable.

Thanks to this thread I bought lansinoh bags yesterday at bbb. I currently use the Medela bags and freeze upright in a freezer storage tray that I bought exclusively for BM. It's full so I am going to pump into Medela bags when directly freezing and use the other bags when freezing milk that I have refrigerated first. We are supplementing now for LOs weight gain, but thankfully it seems to be only one bottle so I am adding to my stash as well. Up to about 14 5 oz bottles frozen.

I've been storing milk this way for the past 3 months and for me there have definitely been significant pros and cons.

PROS:
*Super easy to thaw (Place 2-6 in a tall bottle and place in the fridge over night).
*Can choose to thaw the exact amount I need.
*Economical ($20 + Ziplock freezer bags)
*Best option for the environment since you can fit 16oz. in a quart size ziplock

CONS:
*My stash from October is already starting to get freezer burn!
*Kind of a pain to pour, freeze, pop out, then hand wash the trays.
*Takes up a lot of room in the freezer. I have 200 oz. and they take up more than half of my freezer! There is also no great way to organize them in a standard freezer. Before I noticed the freezer burn I had planned on stashing them by month in boxes to be frozen in a family member's deep freezer, but I'm nixing that idea.

So, I'm making the switch to honeysuckle bags. If I weren't already starting to see freezer burn then I would probably keep using the trays, because they're not THAT inconvenient and I really like how you can defrost as much or as little as you want right into the bottle.

I'll probably still use the trays once a week or so and keep a small limited stash of sticks in my freezer, but I just tried the bags and OMG.. they're so much easier.

When we took the breastfeeding class they said to go by the rule of 6: 6 hours on the counter, 6 days in the fridge, 6 months in the freezer.

I examined my stash last night and some of my November milksicles have mild freezer burn. It definitely could be that I'm just not storing it right, or my freezer doesn't close tight enough.
