Of all the time I spent EPing and hating it, at least I had built up a nice little freezer stash to be proud of. But not anymore! I guess our power went out last week, and we just found everything in our deep freezer completely thawed.
Tragic.

I feel like a FOOL for not catching it in time, but we don't use our deep freezer daily. RIP 60 oz, you left us too soon.

Oh that is terrible! I hope there wasn't too much else in there, but the breastmilk is by far the most tragic loss

Oh no!! I worry about that happening all the time, and our house was having electric problems for about 2 months so I check our freezer every day just in case!

@anbanan15: we had a bunch of meals including homemade ravioli and pierogi, and excellent beef from a local farm. Wwaaahhhhh

Nooooooo.
Daycare had an incident with one of DS' bottles today (it's a Doc Brown bottle and it leaked out the top after they heated it) and lost 1.5 ounces out of it. They felt so, so bad (luckily it was right before I got there for the Mother's Day brunch and I was able to top him off). And that was bad enough. I can't imagine losing 60. I'm so sorry

@aprk: oh that is terrible! I'm so sorry! Too bad you didn't know about the possible power outage and could have stuffed the freezer with blankets and/or dry ice to try and preserve the contents (I did the blanket thing during Sandy to protect my stash You know your milk obsession is bad when it comes down to that lol).

@aprk: oh no!!!!!!!!!! I am so sorry! L and my dad watched L last week and they thawed 2 bags of milk right in a pan of water and the bags had holes so they lost 8 Oz. I can't imagine losing 60.

@anbanan15: yeah it's so weird, since we didn't lose power in the house. The freezer is in a shed type thing just outside on the porch. I think it must be a breaker problem.

@aprk: awww noo! This happened to us last summer with our deep freezer in the garage. I guess it was just a flipped breaker since we never lost power or thought to check it. Since I'll be storing pumped BM in there this summer I am extra paranoid about it happening again! I'm so so sorry :((
