LO is 8 months old tomorrow, and over the past week he's been a little funny about breastfeeding sometimes. Tonight was the worst - after I gave him his usual 4 oz bottle (normally followed by breastfeeding until he's full), he refused the breast entirely and would cry when I tried to give him the breast, and bite a little (with his gums, no teeth yet) when I tried to get him to latch on. Eventually I gave up and gave him another 4 oz in a bottle, and he happily drank all of it.

He has been fussy at the breast a couple times this week too, usually in the evening nursing session. He breastfed just fine all weekend though - from Friday through today I only breastfed him, and he only refused the breast at this last nursing session before bed. During the week I normally do his first and last feedings of the day, and he has bottles for the rest while I'm at work.

Has this happened to anyone else? I really don't want this to turn into an all-out nursing strike - does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this and make sure it doesn't get worse?
