My mom used to be a nurse but badly injured herself catching a falling patient and can no longer work. So, it works out perfectly because now she wants to provide the childcare for our baby (when he/she comes). She is beyond excited and I am elated to have someone I trust so much caring for our child.

My question is, how do I bring up the subject of money? I don't even know what the going rate for childcare is. I know she would do it for free, and is genuinely happy to just be able to spend the time with her grandchild, but I feel like that would be taking advantage.

How would you all handle this?
