My milk didn't come in until day 5 with DS. I'm curious about how it'll go this time.
Did your milk come in earlier the second time? Later? The same?

I forget when my milk came in with DD (came in pretty late), but I got mine super fast with DS. It came in on day 2.5!

First time around it was about 4 days.. 2nd time I got my milk in before even leaving the hospital (less than 48 hr). I was stoked. Hopefully you will have a similar experience.

First time was 5. This time ... 2? Nursing has been a breeze this time.

Well, mine came in three days after I delivered both times. I was curious as to when it would come in this time because our first time was so different, but it came in on day three! And it was more intense than the first time.

It came in about the same both times. Around day 4.

It took about 3 days with B. I was still in the hospital when it came in with E, so just under 2 days.

10 days with my first, and 15+ with my second...
i thought for LO#1 it took so long because i wasn't pumping with a hospital grade pump until 2 weeks, and nursing was so painful i didn't nurse for hours on end....
but when LO#2 came (6 weeks ago!), i did EVERYTHING 'right' -- nursing around the clock, pumping with my medela freestyle, fenugreek, water, soup, rest, no stress, heck i even took a high dosage of domperidone from the day i gave birth.... alas.... i'm still having to supplement with formula! poor baby lost so much weight the first week
anyway, mine is a totally random case and i'm SURE it will be a good experience for you! especially since it came in for you for LO#1
didn't mean to scare anybody with my story! i was really hoping and praying that i'd have enough milk this time...! there is hope yet, i think!
eta: and when i say it 'came in' after 10 and 15 days, all i mean is that i was able to pump up to 1 or 2 ounces at a time, instead of a few drops at the bottom of the bottle

This is totally an unscientific observation, but from my 8 years working in NICU, I have noticed/been told, that milk comes in 1-2 days earlier on average for second and subsequent babies.

@MsMini: That's awesome. I think mine came in on day four and by almost day four we gave the first bottle of formula and dd was already not latching and if she did at all it wasn't well. This is good news for me.

Day 2 and feeling that my milk should come in very soon. With my first it came in around day 5 or 6.

@MsMini: Happy to hear that!
I'm a little nervous about the next one, but feel like I learned so much from #1 that I hopefully have more tools in my arsenal than before.

Update!!! Milk came in on day 3 with LO #2! It also felt different. With DS I remember my milk coming in being SO painful! I was so uncomfortable and engorged that I was terrified to nurse. This time I just felt more and more "full" as the day went on and after one evening feed LO was milk drunk. Much more manageable! At least so far!
