Thought it would be fun to do a movie night this week after LO goes to bed with my niece & nephews.
What's a good kid's movie that just came out on DVD, appropriate for a 9 year old boy & girl and 6 year old boy?
I'm thinking freshly popped popcorn and letting them each have a small bag of candy, their choice. Any other fun snacks that won't keep them up forever?

Hmmm I tried asking G, but he's all about superhero & "boy" movies so that was no use. lol
I googled some lists (since I couldn't remember anything we've seen off the top of my head)....
We liked Wreck it Ralph alot & I think it'd be great for both boys/girls, Escape from Planet Earth, Despicable Me 2 (don't know if it's out to rent yet), or even the first one... I think ANY Pixar movie is safe, and even some Disney classics.
Maybe come up with a list of a few & see if they can agree on something?..

I don't know about the movies but one thing my mom did when we were little was let us do a popcorn bar-- we put out lots of different toppings and tried them in small batches. It was a ton of fun and still sticks out clearly in my mind! I think we did cinnamon and sugar, cocoa powder and sugar, Old Bay spice mix, Lawry's seasoning salt and a few others.

Fun! DH & I always talk about how we can't wait to do movie night w/LO once she's older 
Are there any older classics that they haven't seen yet?

@pinkcupcake: haha that reminds me that I bought this huge ceramic popcorn tub I hardly ever use. But I have individual brown bags to that they can use to shape up their toppings!
Good call on the "classics" Hmmm...any suggestions?

@pinkcupcake: good suggestions!!! I don't think the boys will like Mary Poppins. I will have to see if they have watched E.T. yet because I think that will be a good one. And we have it on DVD I think!

OMG - ET scared the bejeesus out of me when I was younger. I remember watching it on tv and just being so scared of ET.
What about The Jungle Book - the boys might like that? I just googled Children's Films and here's a good list:

We're going classic and watching E.T. tonight. DH thinks 6 year old (almost 7) nephew will be fine.
We're going to make home made popcorn with fun toppings and homemade s'mores!
Pushing our coffee table out of the way in the family room and throwing blankets and pillows on the floor. Should be fun! I'm going to head to the farmer's market at lunch to see if there are fun snacks to pick up.

Just wanted to update that movie night was a big hit! We even did it again the next night and watched Back To The Future!
I suspect it was the blankets/pillows on the floor, air popped popcorn and homemade s'mores.

That sounds so fun, I think we should add fun snacks to our periodic movie nights!!!! (I've been itching to make s'more bites again. Lol).
