I've been reading your book recommendations, Ina May's book and others, and they are great! But DH isn't a big reader, so I was hoping to find something for us to watch together to learn more about birth, pregnancy, new borns, ect.
Any recommendations?

We took a class and it was very helpful.
But I can see how watching a video closer to my due date could refresh my memory.

@Keybee: not so much for birth, but for newborns the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD was really helpful. It's pretty much the same as the book but you can watch it in an hour or whatever instead of reading it. Plus I found it helpful to see his swaddling technique.
Our birth class also included a video of three real births. DH was not really a fan but I don't think he had any idea what to expect before that.

@Foodnerd81: oh, my class instructor mentioned that the DVD for that book was good and we should see it. I need to remind myself to borrow it.
@Keybee: Our instructor showed us two videos but only parts of it and they were quite dated... Maybe that's why we only saw certain parts. I guess it might be hard to find a video that is unbiased on everything childbirth related.

@Foodnerd81: Our infant care class instructor mentioned Happiest Baby on the Block as one we should watch. It's available for streaming purchase on Amazon Prime. We just haven't gotten around to watching yet.

I think watching a video could traumatize a man lol. My husband took video of my first birth, and when I watched it a year later, I was a little scared of what happened lol.
Ok ok, that's extreme... but I will say that taking a class was very helpful in preparing me and DH for birth and taking care of the baby

What to Expect When You Are Expecting. Ha! No, seriously. At one point I was just so damn morning sick, huge, and annoyed that I just had to watch this movie and laugh.
