I am so, so sorry. My heart truly goes out to you. I know it's not exactly the same, but my uncle committed suicide a little over two years ago. Even when you know a loved one is suffering, I don't think anyone can ever truly understand the shock you feel hearing news like this. My uncle did go to counseling and even in-patient treatment, but just like with many physical diseases, sometimes depression is too much for a person to conquer. I will be thinking of you and your family. Feel free to wall me if you need to talk or need anything. Take care of yourself

Im so sorry for your loss No words I know can help but know we are thinking about you. I lost my dad in 2012, it was 2 years a few weeks ago on my birthday. Its not an easy thing to ever experience. I wish I could say more but if you want to talk wall me. Im so sorry again

I lost my Dad earlier this year when he decided he would rather die immediately than let his terminal cancer take him slowly. Not quite the same thing, but its still tough for us to understand.

There are no words. I am so sorry. My family (and myself) struggle with depression and suicide is a common cause of death in my family. It doesn't make it easier or better but please know that it was his depression, not him. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I cannot even imagine the shock you must feel. It's not the same at all, but my grandfather took his life in March and my uncle did as well a couple years ago. I was quite angry at my grandfather's funeral and the pastor said, "unless you have walked a mile in their shoes, get off of their back." I was completely humbled.
There is no way to understand why, but I have now just accepted that I cannot possibly know the "demons" he was living with.
I will pray that your family has some peace through this time and that you draw closer together and support one another. Hugs. -
