I really really want to wean Olive but am having a hard time because she is such a breastfeeding addict! I would be happy to continue on longer if she were only nursing once or twice a day. But she is still nursing as much as a baby (except when she's in daycare where she drinks milk). The big problem is that she is barely eating any solids. I mean like less than 10 bites of solid food the entire day. And any time she's even a little bit sick (which she usually is!), she only wants to nurse. And though we sleep trained and night weaned, once she got sick we were back to square one and she's still waking up multiple times a night.

When we pick her up from daycare, she wants to nurse because she hasn't seen me all day. But because she has to eat dinner as soon as we get home, if I nurse her, she's not hungry for dinner. If I don't nurse her, she will throw an all out rolling on the floor tantrum, and she has absolutely no problem skipping an entire meal(s)!

She's fine when I'm not around. But as soon as she sees me she's crawling up my legs, begging to nurse. The biggest problem is her lack of eating because she hasn't gained any weight in 6 months and is about to fall off the growth charts!

Do you have any other suggestions on how to wean my little milk monster? Since she's such an addict, I don't think she can just nurse in the morning and at night. I think it has to be all or nothing!
