Can't get my amh test numbers out of my head. It's making me so depressed. I just want to head those who have low amh successful with getting bfp. Would really love to hear from the older women more as I am almost 35 and I feel like everything is starting to weigh me down! Just feeling very down about this.

@travellingbee: hi, it was 6.8pmol or 0.95 ngl/l I was told I would need Ivf.
I want to have it retested though bc when I did this test I was on bcp. My afc was 13! Again I was on bcp at the time. -
Here! Here! And there are quite a few. My AMH was only 0.6 and I am currently pregnant with my second child via natural conception. There are a lot of DOR or borderline DOR women on here who have had no issues or have had to use only mininimal interventions to have success. Good luck and don't waste time but don't lose hope either. The number can mean less than you think.

Yeah, this whole number thing and being told I need ivf ASAP freaks me out! Glad it's not always the case.
It's really hard to get those numbers out of my head now and I feel it's affecting my chances of conceiving bc it makes me stressed and worried. Trying hard to block it but it isn't easy. And my age doesn't help either! Or one tube! -
I'm 37 with an AMH of 0.76. I got pregnant at 35 with my 1st no problem but have had issues this time. I have gotten pregnant twice and lost both but that is because of my egg quality due to age.

My AMH was .3/.4 and my FSH was 20.3! I was 28, but did one cycle of injections plus IUI which resulted in my twins, now almost 2!
Don't let the numbers get you down, they are not everything! -
hi @Emilia80 ! I just got my bfp last weekend and I started with low AMH! I can't remember now what it was - if you remind me of the normal range I might be able to tell you? But when we first met my RE she ran blood work and my AMH came back low. So she did a follicle scan and found a fibroid (!!). Then I had surgery to remove the fibroid and THEN we got to TTC via IUI. Round 2 worked
From low AMH diagnosis to scan to surgery to bfp = 5 months. It ended up not mattering in the least. GOOD LUCK to you!!

@Emilia80: I would get a second opinion. Any doctor who jumps right to IVF based on your AMH (especially when yours is only borderline low) is looking to make money. I'd find another doctor ASAP.

@travellingbee: I've been thinking about being referred to an RE, I thought I would ttc for 6months before I head down that way. But every time I see my gyno he's always shoving ivf down my face, it makes me uncomfy. He did just prescribe clomid for me without any issues so am trying this first. I feel a lot of pressure atm bc he's always mentioning my age (34) and the one tube I have combined with low amh.
How would my gyno make money from referring me to ivf.. Isn't it no longer in his hands treating me?
Do u think being on bcp can affect the results.? -
@Trailmix: wow congratulations, that's amazing, so happy to hear that. If clomid doesn't work for me my gyno wants me to try injections but I don't think with iui. We see how we go.
I secretly hope I get preg with twins to avoid the ttc pressure for the next child, it'll only be worse as I'll be older, and numbers dropping more.

@Emilia80: ah no, it's just an OB? Then he's just clueless. He wouldn't get $. I'd get a referral for an RE. I have so much more information and hope from working with my RE than with my OB.

@Emilia80: Mine referred me to an RE the minute she saw my numbers. I wouldn't waste time with an OB. They understand what the numbers mean but not the subtleties of it all. Look for recs for a good RE in your area.

@travellingbee: ok thanks, I'm at my doc waiting so I'll ask for a referral. Wondering if j should do the amh test again now, I've been off bcp 3mths now, enough time to retest? And afc? Is there a particular cycle day these should be tested?

@Emilia80: hmmm I think AF.C is day 3 but I'm not sure. I don't think AMH changes much but FSH fluctuates. Have you had that tested?

@travellingbee: yes fsh was 8. Afc was 13! Had to go see my gp today for something totally not related to ttc so while I was there I asked her about amh, I was shocked she knew quite a bit. She told me women taking bcp should not test for amh as it suppresses it so bc I was on bcp for 6 years I should wait 6 months to have it retested. She thinks my amh level will then be about 11-12pmol which makes me feel much better. Still in the low range but not far from satisfactory range. So I need to wait until May to have the test again.
When I had my afc idk what day it was somewhere In middle of my cycle. So am sure that count was wrong too bc of wrong test date and also being on bcp at the time. Will wait to have both retested.

@Emilia80: that sounds really normal for your age. Again someone telling you that you'd need to go right to ivf is crazy.

@travellingbee: I agree! I thought as soon as he said ivf I was dumbfounded, I haven't even been trying and he already suggested ivf. Not sure bc of the fact I only have one tube that's why he suggested that. Idk. But I'm not ready to throw in the towel and jump the gun without trying first. It's really only been 2 cycles. I started taking cq10 hoping to improve egg quality as I've heard this vitamin is great for that. Can only hope.

I think mine was .6 and the re had wanted to see 1+ since I'm 31....but it worked out anyway! (knock on wood!!).

@wrkbrk: I'm really starting to believe that all this amh is utter bs! So many ppl with low amh successfully getting bfp. This test should be banned.!! All it does is bring women down and stresses them out!

@Emilia80: Totally. Everything else was normal for me EXCEPT my amh and I worried for a good two months about i!! I think you will be just fine w/o IVF
