Has anyone tried/perscribed either Neocate or Althéra? Where did you buy it? I found Neocate on Amazon and the cheapest I found it was $40.50 a can (shipping isn't free)! I can't find Nestle Althera at all.
DD's on Enfamil Nutramigen right now and it's not working so great. We were given 2 cans of Neocate and prescribed Althera. But we're leaving for the States soon and I need to figure out if we have to stuff our luggage with the stuff or if I can buy it there.

P.S. I'm wondering if they sell it somewhere that I can't find online since I can't physically go into the stores myself until we arrive.
Hoping someone had experience with these formulas.

I had actually never heard of either before seeing this, so my guess is that they aren't in typical target/babies r us stores but ill keep my eye out! When do you leave?

@sorrycharlie: In 9 days! I'm thinking the best way is to order it here (where we have a Rx) and stuff our bags with it. $40 a can is ridiculous!

Me neither... Wonder if u can just try gerber goodstart. I think it used to be nestle.

@tequiero21: I just looked up Goodstart Gentle, it looks good, but probably not sensitive enough for a milk protein allergy (which we think she has).

Update: I've read that Neocate is only available through prescription, but Walgreen's pharmacy sometimes carries it and will sell it w/o.
I'm gonna try to call the Walgreens near my mom's place and see. Thanks so much ... but I'd still love to hear from any mom's that have any experience with these formulas

@Crumbs: I know if you go on their website they will say where they sell it (Neocare) in stores. They also sell it online & you can send it directly to wherever you'll be in 9 days. In my experience, I talked to a rep who told me none of my Micgigan store held it but she sent me a free sample tin! So chat with an online rep;)
Either way: nutramigen & alimentum worked just as well for us so I never had that need to find anything else.
