it does not need to be a room, it can be a cubical if there isnt a room available

@bunnylove08: thanks! I found that doc and missed the part that it applies to any co regardless of size.

@locavore_mama: No problem, i feel that the document is a little hard to read.

@bunnylove08: yea...I don't really like the "as a last resort it can be a cubicle!"

@locavore_mama: i feel a cubical is so open. I dont know how that is acceptable

@bunnylove08: right?! I'd prefer a bathroom over a cubicle, frankly.

@locavore_mama: my friend said the same thing, except for the time someone did a number 2 while she was in the bathroom pumping. i laughed when she told me

@bunnylove08: grosss haha. Let me specify, private bathroom over a cubicle!

@locavore_mama: haha i agree with you. I have to say I'm lucky to have my own office and someone donated a fridge to me. I talk to other people and I didnt know how hard it was.

@bunnylove08: yes, you are! I'm not sure what to do yet when I have a second. When I started here I was at the end of my pumping so I just pumped in the bathroom. But the second time around I have no intentions of pumping in a bathroom, private or not, for over a year.

@locavore_mama: do you think you can book the conference room (if they have one). One friend pumped in her car, i dont think thats a great option either
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@bunnylove08: that's what I did at my last place but one of them was made into a "pumping" room. Here there is two conference rooms and a open conference area. So if I took the conference room they will still have a secondary space to use.

The "cubicle" provision is totally impracticable:
"As a last resort, an employer who is unable to provide a dedicated lactation room or other location under these guidelines may make available a cubicle for use by individuals expressing breast milk, provided the cubicle is fully enclosed with a partition and is not otherwise accessible to the public or other employees while it is in use for expression purposes. The cubicle walls shall be at least seven feet tall to insure the
nursing employee’s privacy."
I've never worked anywhere with 7 foot tall cubicle walls that are completely enclosed...
