So our ped gave us the go ahead to introduce M to oatmeal cereal (she's 4 mths) once a day. What brands do you guys like? I am most likely going to start with Earth's best organic oatmeal. Thoughts?

@crash806: did your ped explain why he OK'ed it since now most are saying 6months? Just curious if there's a reason specific to your LO? Thanks!

I have never tried this but apparently you can put regular oatmeal in a food processor so it chops up really fine...

@regberadaisy: He said it was more for learning to eat as opposed to nutrition (as we are going to thin it out big time with milk). Learning how to swallow, hand-eye coordination.

@crash806: we got Earth's Best too because of all the good reviews. We even skipped the rice because I'm waiting until he turns 6 mos in a few weeks.

@sloaneandpuffy: I have heard of this as well, I plan to do this when baby is 6 months. Although I think I may use regular quaker oatmeal.
@Clementine: Is there a difference between regular oatmeal and earths best? -

We use Earth's best. The nice thing about baby oatmeal over regular is that you don't have to cook it. It is precooked and then dehydrated.
