When we were younger, we had a daytime nanny, and spent a lot of time at the pool.

There are summer camps but most are from 9-3 or only mornings for younger kids so that might not work if you're working longer hours.

I would consider a part time nanny.

I know the elementary school I worked at had a summer program at the school. Kids could be dropped off as early as 6 am and picked up no later than 6pm. A structured curriculum started at 9am. There was a lot of playing outside, gym time and once a week field trips.

I personally wouldn't do that only because the schools in my district suck. If I was in a better school district I might be more okay with that.

My mom worked at home when we were younger so we just hung out at home. They sent us to hong long one summer to stay with my aunt. That was a ton of fun. LOs will probably do summer camps.

My mom was a sahm my whole life, I'll probably be a summer sahm so it will work out nicely.

Both my parents worked so my mom would make worksheets for us that we had to finish before she came home but if they were done, we just played.

My parents had their own small business so when summer, weekends, and afterschool came around, it was to work we went. I remember days of being too sick for school and having to stay at the tire shop. Not so much fun.
I imagine we'll try to do a summer nanny and/or have me go back to part time during the summers. Eventually I want to go back into education, so that would be pretty perfect.

We went to day camp growing up. I went to fun and fitness camp, and a theater camp. My mom worked for my dad so she could easily set her own hours and go in late/take off early depending on when the camp times were.

I have no idea what we'll do. Currently I'm a SAHM, but the plan is for me to get a PT job when the kids are in school. So I guess we'll figure something out!

No idea yet, but she's only 4 months. My mom was a SAHM when we were little but went back to work full-time when I was in elementary school (youngest child). By that time, my older sister was old enough to keep an eye on me the 3 days a week my mom worked at the office (she still works at home 2 days/week). We lived in town and could walk to the beach, downtown, or the library. My friends would get dropped off at our house a lot too (they lived way out in the country).

We want to daycamp run by the school when we were young even though our Mom was a SAHM. They did field trips every Friday. One memorable one was to the county dump on the hottest day of the summer. But there was also an annual canoeing trip and dune climb.

We went to a private camp for a few summers, and I loved it. It's now owned by the YMCA, so we may send DD there in the future. DH never went to camp and doesn't sound like he "gets it".

I have no idea. They have track out camps here for kids who are on the year round schedule but I'm not sure what we'll do if she ends up in a traditional school. I have a feeling our vacations will happen in the summer...like everyone else!

DH is a professor so he'll have the summers off. We'll probably send them to summer day camp for at least a few weeks, though. I have very fond memories of summer camp from when I was a kid.
