If the test line is lighter than the control line, does that mean anything? I know it is negative, but does it mean you should start testing twice a day because the darker line is coming?
Or is it just a normal thing, these lighter lines...
Sorry if this is a novice question, but I'd love some advice. Don't want to pee in a cup excessively if I don't have to.
(and for reference, I'm on CD 10 with totally unpredictable length in cycles....anywhere from 28 to 37 days....)

is this your first time (month) using OPk's?
i would get a progressivly darker line and then as they would start to get darker i would start to test in the morning and then again at night...

My OPKs were always "fade in/out", so they'd gradually get darker over the days leading up to O, and then start lightening again after it passed. If you're getting lines at all I'd say you're probably gearing up to O soon (for me I would start getting lines about a week before).

Mine get progressively darker as well. When it's positive, it is really easy to tell. You'll know it!

@MrsCastro: you betcha! Last time, I charted obsessively, but never used OPKs. This time, my sleep is too erratic to actually chart...between C's early and randomly timed wake ups and my generally awful mama insomnia, I doubt temping would be reliable at all.

I almost always get a line of some sort on a OPK. It's positive when the test line is as dark or darker than the control. Good luck!

Mine always fade in a few days before O. Generally if its a medium, but not dark line, I know it will be positive the next day. I don't think you should ever test twice a day, 2-4pm is optimal.

My positive line always came out of the blue. There would be a fainter line leading up but then *boom* dark! Most cycles I've only done OPKs once a day, at night when I get home from work.
