Ok, this is going to sound really weird but one of the things I hate about daycare is that he smells like other people when I pick him up. I kind of want to strip him down and snuggle him so he smells like me again!
Am I just weird or do other people think this too??
Edited bc my iPhone autocorrected him to Jim, and that's not my LO or DH's name. Ha.

I felt that way when we were at a family reunion. A came back to me smelling like grandma perfume! Yuck.

Ha I know ! It doesn't bother me bc right now my mom keeps him so he just smells like her but I do notice it EVERY DAY

I hate that! Her school teachers aren't allowed to wear perfume, but I even hate the smell of scented lotions...

I don't have a sense of smell. But my lo isn't in daycare and never let's anyone other then me, dh, and grandparents hold her so I guess she doesn't smell like other people.

@Mrs. Jacks: @coacheswife123: a lot of times I think it's the detergent they use. I don't notice the smell of my mom (who line dries most of her clothes) but I do notice my MIL's smell.

Oh man. I kinda dig the daycare smell! It makes me so happy that he's been snuggled and cuddled and loved on enough to gather up a scent.

Haha, yep. Whenever we visit DH's parents, C ends up smelling like my MIL's perfume. It fades pretty quickly but definitely is strange at first.

Our first nanny used to douse herself in perfume and our babe always smelled like her when I got home. I did not like this at all. Luckily, our current nanny doesn't wear perfume.

@dagret: Maybe that is it. It doesn't help that I'm so sensitive to scents! They give me migraines.

Yes! I only notice this with my MIL's perfume. I don't know what it is, but I guess it's strong!

I don't mind the smell of my mom (mostly soap and makeup) but my dad puts his paws all over my babies and they end up smelling like him... and their hair gets all greasy from him smoothing it away from their eyes!! ickkkkk. Whenever we're with him I just cannot wait until BATHTIME.

My nanny would wear strong perfume and I hated getting home and him smelling like her. I would usually change his clothes and that helped.

My LO just smells like food because my mom cooks a lot! It's weird but hey, I love the smell of my moms home cooked dinners;) Lo hangs out there with DH on nights that I don't cook, so they both come back from my Mom's with "her smell".

Ds smells like my MILs perfume an has shimmer all over him because she has it in her makeup. The shimmer bugs me more than the smell but they both bother me haha

Yes!! Especially when my MIL hola him, I can smell her cheap old last perfume. Note to self: by her some nice perfume for the next holiday!! Then my baby will smell better!!

@dagret: Well it's good and bad. I miss out on good smells but then I also don't have to deal with yucky smells. Which was pretty bad when I was working with a little girl who had a tendency to pee her pants but I could never smell it and then she'd sit on my lap......

@artbee: its gotta be rough on your appetite though. my cousin lost his sense of smell and now he can't eat a lot of food bc the texture without accompanying good smells is too much for him.

@dagret: Texture isn't an issue for me. I tend to like bland food though, and I can't tell if things are stale.

This drove me crazy when my MIL would watch my LO. Once I came home and she smelled of AWFUL body odor... I had to wash her down on the DL because I didn't want my MIL to know and be offended (she was staying with us).

"Luckily" LO spits up so much that the only thing she smells like at the end of the day is her own spit up.
