We have a Graco pack n play and are going away for two weeks during the summer. We are renting a house, so we can't ask for a crib, and are thinking of bringing the pack n play. Any suggestions on mattresses? Do they have any that fold or are easier to transport?

I guess I don't really consider what comes with is as a mattress. It's hard and I can't imagine comfortable to sleep on for two weeks. Are there any other options?

We got a quilted pad that you could just slip under the sheet that makes the PNP more comfy... Can't remember the brand but I know it was on Amazon.

@ajh1028: We use the quilted sheet with a regular PNP flannel sheet on top. It's pretty soft once you get it all together. LO has never complained.

I think there is one out there that folds, but I can't remember the name...sorry!
Also, remember that a preference for cushy mattresses is something that is learned. A baby who is used to a PnP mattress will be comfortable on it (mine is), but a baby used to a standard mattress may not be. I would try anything out at home first so you can see if your LO is comfortable.
Eta: my guy sleeps on the one that comes standard, with a standard PnP sheet. He's never complained, but it's what he's used to.

We always just used the standard mattress. My older LO slept on it for 4.5 months before she moved into her own room.
They have quilted pads but I think firmer is supposed to be better for infants.
We have a Baby Bjorn travel crib and the mattress is a little thicker and it folds up!

LO has been sleeping on it for 3+ months now and he hasn't complained. But maybe it's because he's used to it. We use a quilted sheet or just a regular jersey sheet.

Also firm mattresses are much safer for SIDS risk. I wouldn't add anything but a sheet.

Thanks, just got a chance to come on here and check the post. I understand that firm is better as her crib does have a firm mattress, but the crib mattress has much more support than the pnp mattress that is extremely this. I guess I'm just have to wing it and hope she sleeps in it

our LO loves the pack and play mattress. we switch her between that and her regular crib and she has no problems at all!

we have a waterproof quilted pad cover for the PNP mattress and after putting the fitted sheet over it its much better.
