Any moms here wear padded nursing bras and can recommend a good one or two (brands)? I have 2 sleeping type nursing bras and got a Target nursing bra the other day, but it's SO unflattering underneath clothes! I'm not used to wearing a non-padded, non-shaped type bra so I'm wondering how it will be after baby comes...
ETA: The Target one is going back. I don't think it's comfortable or flattering!

you've got enought right now to get you through the first little bit after the baby comes, then wait until your milk comes in to see if your boobs change a lot. I would also suggest after your supply is established going to a proper lingerie store and having a pro fit you for a NICE nursing bra. When I'm home in my jammies I don't care so much, but when I go out, I LOVE having an awesome supportive bra, it makes me feel way more normal.

I waited till after my supply had evened out to know what size to buy. I live in sleep bras though. and also coobie bras. I dont wear regular bras anymore.

@prettylizy: Yeah, I won't get any till later on, and I'm returning the Target one. I just decided to try it on with a shirt last night and ugh - felt really weird! Just wondered if anyone had a good brand to recommend? Like VS for nursing? hahah

The padded bras are kind of annoying because there is more material that you need to push down in order to nurse or pump. My LO would kind of get annoyed because the extra fabric would sometimes get in her way when trying to feed. I'm petite and small chested though so there wasn't a ton of room for me to fold the bra down out of the way.

I have a slightly padded one from Target on at the moment. It's not a great bra, but it shapes reasonably well and I don't think any sort of nursing pads will show through it. I tried to find it on their web site and couldn't, but the color I have it in is dark gray if that helps! I also got a nursing sleep bra and a nursing tank to tide me over in the beginning.

I hate padded nursing bras! Not only are they a pain to deal with, I tend to get clogged ducts from padded, under wired bras. I'll deal with having funky boobs for a year.

@shopaholic: I hear ya... I need a foam cupped one in order to look normal.
I *love* the one I bought. It's pretty and it makes me look good. As a bonus, I found it at Nordstrom which is my favorite store ever

The downside is that because they are foam cupped, its a little more difficult to fold down. I got the hang of it after wearing it a few times though.

I thought it looked good under clothing too, but I preferred the foam cup one more.

@shopaholic: just wanted to say that I also hate the target ones!!
I actually got a normal padded underwire that was really big and I pulled my breast out as needed.

I think the Bravado seamless silk bras with removable padding do a decent shaping job & are easy to pull down too

@sunny: Wow! That does look normal! And I never thought about checking Nordstroms for nursing bras! I will definitely go there when the time comes!
@Thehistoryofus: That might be a good compromise. I'm sure I'd only want to wear the padded ones when we go out for something like dinner or parties, etc.

@shopaholic: oh btw, my local Nordys doesn't put nursing bras out on display. You have to ask for them.
