As a well endowed breastfeeding mom, underwires never messed with my supply. Right after H was born, I went from a C to a DD, and if family history has any say, I'll be even bigger with the next one. I'd check out Cake, Hot Milk, and even Bravado for nursing bras. The one tip I have is to get fitted, because a well-fitting nursing bra will make you feel way better about yourself. I kind of hate non-underwire bras because they make my girls look sad.

I have huge boobs (went from a D to probably an H in my last pregnancy and am probably up to a DDD right now at 7 months pregnant), and I never found a great nursing bra last time. I bought maybe 4 and then just gave yup and wore the ones that made my boobs look saggy. So keep me posted on what you find!

I am well endowed and had two that I liked a lot. One was unlined, no wires, and and different hook and eye positions on the cup based on how full you are. I used that in conjunction with a nursing tank and would pull both flaps down. I also had one by Elomi that I ordered through Nordstrom. It had an underwire and I never got a clogged duct from it.

I highly recommend getting one that has variable sizing until your supply is in. Then you can get one thing's more sized and fits better.

Bravado Bliss! I'm a DD when not pregnant, well into G/H territory when pregnant and nursing. It doesn't have an underwire but still manages to be very supportive. And it's lined so I didn't worry about wearing it under t shirts or tanks. Any other nursing bra I tried on was a total saggy disaster. I found a shop near me that carried a bunch of nursing bras...trying them on was a huge help!

I'm at least a G right now. I have a soft bravado bra that isn't super supportive but IS comfy under a shelf tank. My two nursing tanks are a big bust and long glamormom tank and an F/G bravado tank. I've just been wearing those and haven't worn an actual nursing bra yet. I was told to wait until I was 6 weeks PP to get fitted properly, which I will do then. The tanks are supportive enough

I ended up not being able to breast feed for other reasons, but I had no issues with my underwire nursing bra, although it was expensive. Big boons did make breastfeeding harder for me.

If you have a Soma Intimates store near you, I highly suggest going for a fitting! I got 2 phenomenal underwire nursing bras (they have non-underwire as well) in a DDD. The lady that fitted me had great suggestions and was very knowledgeable. I hadn't heard of Soma before reading about it a few weeks ago somewhere on HelloBee, and now I'll be a customer for life!

I had underwire nursing bras from Elomi, Le Mystere and Hot Milk. They all were decent in terms of support! For reference, I'm a 34G at the moment and while nursing.

@avivoca: oh yes, they go up to come crazy high letters I wish I would have known about Soma earlier... I was buying $65 VS bras (my pre-pregnancy size is hard to find elsewhere)!

I happened to hit a sale at Soma when they were doing two bras for $29 each... The nursing bras were normally $49 each but I got them 2 for $60! And they are really solid underwire bras!

I wore structured but not wired nursing bras for the first few months, then switched to wired ones once I had my feet under me & my boob size had more or less settled.

I liked Hotmilk -they worked for me (I wore their 32E while breaatfeeding full time) and were much prettier than many of the other options out there. Zulily tends to have them once at least quarterly for under $30 each.

I liked Anita underwire nursing bras. I got them just before 6 weeks, and never had any problems. In the early days I used various cheap bras, none of which were worthwhile.
