Anyone read parenting books? Any recommendations?
I just started Nurture Shock and so far, it's pretty interesting. Also started...Brain Rules for Baby: How to Raise a Smart and Happy Child from Zero to Five.

@APRK - thanks for the rec. I agree... some of these books can get annoying and preachy but it's great to learn about other ppl's perspectives.

I'm in the middle of reading Nurture Shock, as well as How to Listen So Your Kids Will Talk and Talk So Your Kids Will Listen (recommended by Mr. Bee). I read Parenting With Love and Logic for Toddlers and listened to the audio book for Happiest Toddler on the Block.
It's honestly really hard to remember some of the more practical application methods that these books suggest in the heat of the moment. I probably have to read some of these multiple times over before I can really "reprogram" myself to act in the prescribed way under stress!
