We have a part-time nanny that comes in 2 full days a week and I'm wondering what you guys do when it comes to working/paying for holidays. She and I never discussed this, because she only started 2 weeks ago and it felt like we were still in the trial stage of things. Also, since she only comes in for 2 days, it feels more like she is a babysitter than a nanny.

With that said, she is great and I'm more concerned with keeping our relationship in a good place and want to do the right thing.

So, with the four day Thanksgiving wknd coming up, I'm wondering whether your nanny still works and if s/he doesn't whether you still pay for the day. Moving forward, I will set up a clear schedule for these things, but I wanted to gauge what the norm is before discussing with her.
