I'm currently sitting in my RE waiting room and there is a sign that says please do not use any perfumes oils or colognes we are in an IVF cycle, and that eggs are sensitive to those odors?!?!? Who knew?!?!?!?
I feel so bad as I have perfume on but they assured me that I am just do b/w....and not going by the rooms..
Wow so crazy how tidiess that process is!!!

I've never heard that (and I just did IVF), although they did tell me no perfume on egg retrieval and embryo transfer days. I think that's because they are performed in the OR though.

Oh yeah, my REs office has those signs everywhere. They are pretty adamant about it!

@SweetiePie: Yeah, they were too it was up everywhere I guess my doctor does his IVF patients in batches? So they are in the middle of a Big Cycle!!!! Praying for those IVF babies :))))))

My first RE gave me handouts emphasizing not to wear anything fragranced around retrieval/transfer, including lotions, because the eggs/embryos are so sensitive.

They told us not to wear Purdue or cologne the day of my egg retrieval or transfer day. The embryos are fragile!

I was just told not to wear any on days I'd be in the OR - egg retrieval and transfer.

I was also told not to wear any lotions/perfumes on retrieval and transfer days, because it could potentially harm the eggs. Those eggs sure are sensitive!
