I was using a hospital grade pump to help me EP but something happened with insurance so we returned. I got out my PISA today and have noticed a croking noise from my right breast when pumping.
ETA that I can hear it from both sides sometimes.
Anyone have this or know what it is?

@MaisyMay: no not at all! It seems to be suctioning well but my first thought was that the shields might not be quite right sizing wise?

Do you hear the sound all the time or just when milk isn't flowing? Sometimes I hear a noise like that when pumping dry.

Check your membranes (the little white rubber discs). I had this start happening once, and the lactation consultant recommended switching out the membranes. It turned out the membranes had a teeny tiny tear.

@Revel: now that you mention it, it's when I'm pumping dry which is happening a lot due to low supply and stress.

@ladybee: Yeah I notice it throughout a pumping session between letdowns. I usually use it to try to trigger another letdown - I'm using an older pump but I think the PISA has a letdown button?
Sorry you're struggling with supply and stress, that is the pits.

@Revel: I'm hoping once we get some answers to how I've been feeling since delivery that ill feel better, be able to pump consistently, and produce more. Ill try triggering another let down, great idea!
