Just when I thought we were finally in a good place with sleeping, of course, C is switching things up again. We sleep trained a couple of weeks ago, first for bedtime, then for naps. For the last week or two, she was going to sleep so great-- we do our routine, lay her down, say good night, and she would move around and fuss for a few minutes then go to sleep. Sure, I'd rather not have her waking up twice a night and naps could be longer, but she was putting herself to sleep, our biggest hurdle.
Well, this week she started rolling onto her tummy, getting stuck, and freaking out. So then DH or I have to go back in there and roll her back and resettle her. Repeat. She actually has rolled onto her tummy and fallen asleep and slept for a long time but usually she just freaks out. Also if she wakes up a little bit between sleep cycles, she's rolling over and again, freaking out.
So, she has taken two naps today for less than 40 minutes each. She's been in her crib for this one for 45 minutes, just when she seems close to settling, rolls over, cries. I've been in there 4 times already I think and she just rolled over again.
I'm so tired. How do I help her resettle herself? We aren't opposed to CIO but it seems unfair to leave her on her stomach, but at this point I think we are teaching her that if you roll onto your tummy, mom or dad come in.
Please help. This has been going on for about a week now and getting significantly worse, not better. I'm off to flip her back over...
