I really, really like this high chair. Would I be crazy to spend $250 on a chair though? It is convertable, so should last until he is 5 or so, but it still seems like a lot of money!
Does anyone have any other high chair recommendations? This is one is just so pretty!

I have a Stokke Tripp Trapp and I love it.
DD climbs up and down herself and DH and I can sit on it too 
We're gonna get another one for DS when he's a little older.

I have that high chair so I say go for it!!! We used 20% BBB coupon, so it was $200. Then we had gift cards for the rest. But I don't regret the decision at all. We love it!! Put the felt protector on the bottom so we can slide around the hardwoods so it isn't the way. Easy to clean and look great with the other furniture.

I also have it and LOVE it. Easy to clean and it really does look great. We used a coupon too, so it wasn't as expensive. It fits in great in our kitchen and slides right in next to the bar stools on the island when we're not using it.

Another thing I like is, you can buy new pads. So if baby ruins it, spend $60 for new ones for baby #2.
We got the pink for R, cause DH said if the next is a boy we will buy new pads for him. But said R is a girl get the fun pink instead of the tan. I love that man!

I am also in the camp of GET IT!
I felt the same way that you do and I tried to get it off CraigsList at a discount price. However, all the ones I found were totally gross or broken. When I thought about it, I realized that DS is going to use it 2-3x/day for 4 years, and then future LOs will use it 2-3x/day also. It will be one of the few baby items that actually gets a ton of use over numerous years. So, you might as well splurge on the one you want! Plus, this chair is amazing- so easy to clean and attractive!!

Too pricey for me. I like the Ikea chair - simple, inexpensive, and a snap to clean. You can have a pad custom made on etsy and still way cheaper. But if you reallllllly love it and its in the budget, then get it. It is pretty!

Phil and Ted's poppy is similar and cheaper. Turns into a chair and can go in the dishwasher!
But if you love it... get it!

It's a really nice looking chair! I'm also in Camp Enabler! I ended up splurging on a Stokke Tripp Trapp and also figured it was worth it since they can use it for many years. Haven't regretted it yet!

I have a friend who has it, and it is nothing special, imho. Very pretty, not remotely worth $250. For a tenth the price you can get the cheap ikea one, and it'll get just as covered in food as this one.

@rahlyrah: Not crazy. I have it. I love it. You use it multiple times a day, every day. It's a breeze to clean, it's nice to look at. LO is going on 28 months and it looks almost as good as the day we bought it.

We have that exact chair/color combo too, and LOVE it! It converts as your LO grows, and in the end you can even use it as a sort of stool/seat as an adult, so spread over time, it's not really expensive at all 
(I can justify anything, but this chair is great).
The one and only complaint I have about it is that the tray has a very low edge/rim, so food/bowls/things are easily pushed/thrown off the tray by LO's moving food around.
Other than that though, the chair is EASY to clean, is very streamlined looking and is great quality. I highly recommend it.

We have that one. We had to get a high chair because of the table we have, and I really wanted one that wasn't bulky or an eye sore, so we went for the splurge (during the amazon mom sale). I would have otherwise gotten one of the fisher price ones that you attach to a chair if we had a normal table.

We spent $25 on the Fisher Price booster seat. LO quit using it altogether by the time he was 2yo, so I wouldn't be inclined to buy anything more expensive, especially because the FP one held up nicely, the tray was dishwasher-safe, and it was easy to clean. Also, it wasn't very obtrusive, it just attached to one of our chairs.

Damn it, I wanted that high chair SO BAD and DH talked me out of it. Every time I look at the blah one we own instead or strap LO into it (which is a pain), I have regret. And all the PPs telling you to go for it are making it way worse! My next baby is so getting a cute high chair!

honestly. i wanted that chair when i was looking at chairs too because everyone loves it. and i am sure it is great. but i decided to go with the IKEA antilop for $25 and decided if the Ikea one didn't work well, then i would consider investing....but it does! look up what people have to say about the antilop and you might be swayed to spend less and put that money elsewhere!

I also say get it! We got the Boon and at first I was trying to justify the price to myself but then thought, it's something she's going to use for a while, it's good quality and we have to somewhat like what it looks like sitting in our dining room!

I kind of do think it's ridiculous but I guess I'm in the minority... I wouldn't think a kid would want to be in the chair past the "baby" years. But everyone has different price ranges for different items, so it's up to you!

I am OBSESSED with it. So freaking easy to clean!
I probably would buy it again even if it cost a million dollars. Just kidding! Sort of.

If I could do one thing over, I wouldn't have spent money on a high chair and stuck with the FP booster. We have a graco one that also grows with your child. My son refused to sit on the high chair soon after turning 2. My daughter gave up the high chair even earlier at a little over a year. It's now just sitting at our kitchen table and they'll use it for fun once in a while. I need to get rid of it soon.

I think spending that much on a high chair makes more sense than spending the same amount on a crib (and that would be an inexpensive crib). But for us, a cheap Ikea high chair works great!

If I had $250 laying around, I wouldn't spend it on a high chair. But I'm another Ikea Antilop fan, so I spent $25 on our high chair and am super duper happy with it.
