I'm not sure how to answer the poll because I'm not sure if you're referring to a toddler bed or twin/full.
We converted the crib to a toddler bed for LO at about 20 months. Simply because her sleep was horrible and had nothing to lose. Vast improvement afterwards.
She's 25 months now and we will be switching her to a twin in the next two weeks.

I'm answering this as crib to any bed, whether that be toddler, twin, or full. We moved LO from our bed to a toddler bed at 23 months. Co-sleeping full-time was no longer working for us because her sleep was so erratic and was disrupting our sleep.

We are at 21 months and I would love to have him in the crib forever! Him falling out of the twin freaks me out.

DD was in a floor bed from the beginning.
DS is 17 months old and I plan on keeping him in his pnp for as long as I can!

@locavore_mama: Oooops! Sorry I was unclear. I was thinking "bed" as anything that was not a crib.

My son is 31 months and still in the crib, otherwise I fear he would never sleep because he would be able to get out of bed. He has never tried to climb out so it works for us, we have no plans to move him out anytime soon.

Also wondering! A friend is moving her 2 year old to a floor bed and E went over for a play date and could not get enough of the bed. LOVED it. But she's good in a crib so I don't wanna rock the boat anytime soon

@Mrs. Tea: I'm so glad you've asked this! Been on my mind a lot. LD will be 22 months when the new baby comes, and we have the perfect daybed to transition her to. It would be so nice to have it done before the baby comes, but I think she may be too young. I hate to risk upsetting her sleep in ANY way. But buying another crib... ugh.

I originally thought I would keep my daughter in a crib until she was 3, but she had other plans. She started routinely unzipping her sleep sack and climbing out of her crib right after her second birthday. So, off came the crib rail and she was in a toddler bed. About 3 months before her 3rd birthday, she decided she would rather sleep in the full-sized bed we had in our then-guest room, so we just followed her lead and let that be her big girl room.

@Mrs. Deer: we went back and forth about moving our son vs buying a new crib too. In the end we weren't ready to potentially disrupt his sleep after sleep struggles and bought a new crib and mattress. Thankfully Target had an awesome sale that you got a free mattress with the purchase of a crib.

M will be 2 in 8 days and I plan on never moving her to a bed. Okay, maybe when she's 3. Not anytime soon. I don't need that added stress or worry right now and she sleeps great. She loves her crib!

We thought about this since the boys will be 22 months when the baby is born, but honestly, I'm way too scared to jack with their sleep. I'd rather buy a THIRD Ikea crib!

we transitioned DD at 20 months because we wanted to use the crib for an upcoming sibling, but i wish i didn't rock the boat because she was a phenomenal crib sleeper! wish we just bought a 2nd crib.
i plan to keep DS in his crib for as long as possible!

We switched around 20 months just bc we wanted to see how it went. She wasn't climbing out or anything. We converted her crib into a toddler bed and she got out once during nap time. I told her she needed to stay in bed. She totally understood and hasn't gotten out of bed. We moved her to a full size bed after she turned 2 and moved to her a "big girl room".

My son is 22 months, and he's still in his crib. Our worry is that he will never actually stay in his bed if we make the switch! We have a safety gate at his door, but I can just imagine him running a muck all night long without the refines of the crib rails! Lol.

24 months and going strong with the crib. He has never tried to get out. But I am pretty sure that he will get out of bed as he pleases in a bed of any sort. Baby #2 will be here when he's 31 months and I'm guessing he will be out of his crib before then.

We transitioned DD from her crib to a twin bed around 26 months. It was mostly because we wants to do it way in advance of #2's arrival and also cause we thought she may be ready. She took to the new bed right away and loves it!

I wanted to transition now (19 months) at least for naps but my plan hit a roadblock. I wanted a twin bed that she could climb into. Didn't want a floor bed cause I wanted under bed storage.

he is 27 months and I see no bed transition in the near future! He is completely happy in his crib and I will not mess with a good thing

28 months so we could move little brother (8 weeks) into the crib from the p&P. #1 fell out of the crib once (while we were at the hospital having #2), but never tried to escape other than that one time. We mainly waited until he got past his new brother regressions and things settled down, but I was still up at night with little brother. His transition has been excellent so far (at 1 month, knock on wood!), he really seemed ready. He had been having occasional naps in the toddler bed prior to the switch, and it had been up for months and wasn't something brand new or a sudden change.

We switched from crib to twin at 33 months for a new sibling. We probably could have kept him in there a few more months though. He slept wonderfully and never tried to climb out.
