They mentioned something that looked like a polyp on my hsg, but not sure whatever happened with that. I now I didn't get surgery or anything. I'll have to ask my hubby to see if he remembers anything.

Is this with your new re? What's up with these doctors and communication?

I had some polyps that were found during a sonohistogram and confirmed with hysteroscopy during my pre IVF testing. RE said they should definitely be removed before IVF because they can cause miscarriage. He also said they're probably really common and many women get pregnant with them, but they go undiscovered unless you're being monitored for fertility treatments. I had minor surgery to have them removed. Basically, it was another hysteroscopy while I was under anesthesia. I was back at work the next day, with an "official" recovery period of 10 days. I did have some sporting that continued until I started BCP 2-3 weeks later. There was no added delay to our IVF timeline. In fact, that surgery counted as my endometrial scratch, so it saved me from having to do that procedure.

I really freaked out when they first told me about the polyps and the surgery, but it really wasn't terrible in hindsight. And it was so so worth it knowing that we were doing everything we could to give our babe the best chance possible of sticking around.

@bluestriped bee: the recovery was not long at all, maybe a couple days. we had to put off proceeding with starting IVF for other reasons, but we would have only had to wait one full cycle to begin under normal circumstances.
