I am currently nursing my 13 month old and have not gotten my first postpartum period yet. However, I had some brown spotting. I never got the full blown period. How soon after that can I test, with the thought that it could be implantation bleeding?

Implantation occurs between 6-12 dpo and the average is 9. So, I would wait another 3-4 days.

I got my bfp 2 days after some really intense implantation cramps (it was a squinter) but I think if you wait a bit longer it would be better.
The month before my period came back with my then-12 month old, I had a day of brown spotting then the next month I got my period.

I think 3 days after bleeding should be a good time to start testing, and then again a couple of days later if negative

What @QBbride said -- when my period first came back, it was really wonky. Super light, then I had like a 70-day cycle, and then it started evening out.
