I want to buy a pragmatic and objective book about breastfeeding. I plan to breastfeed, but I know that some people have trouble with it. The best book for me would explain the mechanics, suggest techniques that might facilitate success, and outline some common problems (and solutions!) so that I am able to recognize them if things don't go smoothly. I understand that breast milk has benefits, but if I run into too many challenges and need to supplement then I don't want a book that will instill some weird unproductive crunchy guilt. I also don't want to be told how I should feel about breastfeeding.
So, what's a good, pragmatic book for a first time mom that wants to give this the old college try?
I listed some common titles, but if you have another one to recommend please list it below and I will add it to the poll.
Thanks!
