Ughhhh. I've felt like crap all day, achy, and I just noticed my right boob is all red all over, so Dr Google says mastitis. I know I had some clogged ducts since I've been pumping out some clunky/stringy things for a few days, and I also scratched off a milk blister which then bled, so I probably got infected that way. I made an appt to go in and get checked out tomorrow, in between visiting the NICU and taking my older son for his check up.
Don't really need anything just wanted to vent!

Ugh, misery! I'm so sorry, hope you feel better soon! For me it was about 24 hours of feeling like complete and utter crap, but after that it got better with massage and compresses.
I couldn't agree more- you are definitely one tough mama!

Mastitis is the worst 
I felt AWFUL with mine, but the good news is as soon as I started taking the antibiotics and got a good night sleep I felt much much better

@char54: All the websites say you need to rest, but also be sure to breastfeed/pump around the clock.. those are not complimentary instructions!

@beaker: it's true what char54 said - 24 hours and as much rest/pumping as possible. It's not easy with a toddler and a NICU baby. I'm sorry!! I hope you are feeling better asap. Also, I'm SUPER surprised they won't just call a prescription in for you now!!

@beaker: I know - I had to pump every 2 hours and it was awful... It was the last thing I felt like doing with my fever and chills! Hope you feel better soon

@mediagirl: they asked if I had it before and I said no... I think if I had they would have just called in a prescription. This was the after hours nurse though, not my regular doc (who isn't in today)
