I'll be pumping at work, in my office. Lucky though, when my office door is closed, no one comes in without knocking first. Can you put a little note on your door requesting people knock before entering, or saying "privacy please"? That sucks that your boss doesn't respect your privacy when your door is closed!

Can you request a locked door knob?

At my work there is now a lock on the "conference room" in front of the receptionist. There are big tall windows that have blackout curtains now. It was recently installed when my co-worker gave birth a couple months ago.
There is also a mini fridge with a lock on it just for breast milk storage as well.
I was under the impression that by law your employer has to provide you with a "space/room" that's not a bathroom for pumping? Or does a private office qualify?

I pump at work in an office i share with a coworker. She is very supportive of my pumping in the office but i wear a nursing cover anyway so she can come and go if need be. I have a hands free pumping bra so i work at my desk while i pump. I have a sign that i put out that says "pumping in progress please knock". That way people know why the door is closed and can act accordingly.

As far as storage, my pump included a cooler bag and ice pack so i store the milk in it in the fridge that we use for our lunches. You cant tell what is in it and no one has complained. It is going well so far.

I'm afraid someone might miss the note on your door unintentionally. Maybe you could tape the sign so it hangs over the doorknob.

I used to lock the door and put up a fabric over the door's window. The rest is like the pp except I make sure I have a tissue box out.
