So I wasn't paying attention (thank you hands free pumping bra and mindlessly clicking through the HB boards) and I seriously overfilled the Medela bottle I'm pumping into,which has to be a little over 6oz plus whatever overflowed out of it. It's amazing to lift up that bottle and feel how heavy it is and realize how much milk one breast can hold. I just started pumping so this totally amazes me still!

Ha, boobs are amazing! I pumped into those 9 ounce Evenflo bottles to avoid overflow!

@travelingbrit: I was only getting 3oz last week but then I started eating oatmeal every morning. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but I'm definitely producing more. Oh, and I made 3 dozen oatmeal cookies and DH and I devoured them in 5 days. That's probably just going to contribute me gaining more weight though

That is a lot! How many times a day are you pumping/BFing?
I have only overflowed the 2 1/2 ounce bottles, but it drives me nuts! (It happens all the time, but I have so many of those type that they are the ones that are clean.) Oh well...I've got breastmilk spots on all of my pants...

@Mrs Green Grass: I pump once in the morning and once at night after I bf him. He eats about 8-9 times a day. I have oversupply in my left breast... It's always full!

I do this sometimes at work during my first pumping session, getting distracted by the computer is a dangerous thing!

I never get enough to overflow the bottles, that would be so great! I just got some oatmeal and plan to eat it for breakfast starting tomorrow, maybe it will increase my supply a little.

@Beehive: make sure you get the real oatmeal, not instant. At least that's what the LC at my BF group told me

@oahujeni: Thanks! I have the quick-cooking version of steel cut oatmeal, I wonder if that counts as instant? In any case, I'll try to get the real stuff tomorrow.

@Beehive: I was wondering the same thing. @oahujeni: I bought steel cut oatmeal but it still says that you can microwave it. Do you know if that counts?

@Beehive & @andrea: you are good with the steel cut that you bought, I was just told not the instant oatmeal that you get in packets.
