The very first time I pumped (maybe about 2 - 3 weeks pp), I got 37 ml and was so excited! I think that works out to just over an ounce...and it took me a good 20 minutes to get it! The next time I tried though, maybe a week later, I got 80 ml in about 10 minutes and it has just gone up from there.

The first few times I only got 1 or 1.5 ounces total - it was so discouraging! Then I kept going and a couple weeks later I was up to 2-3 ounces or so.

I think maybe 4 oz total? I always have had an over supply.

Exactly what the first 2 posters said. The first few times were a total of 2 oz or so. It was so discouraging, but Kellymom.com and my friends here and on other mom groups reassured me that it wsa totally normal at first. Just remember that pumping is not necessarily indicative of your supply. The baby is much more effective at emptying the breast. I could pump until I got NOTHING more, and Liv would nurse and be gulping milk down. Just keep at it, you will see the ouput start to increase

I got 1.5 ounces the first time I pumped. At the time, my baby nursed really often. Fast forward six months to my first day back at work, I got 22 ounces in one day. It takes a little while to get your body used to pumping.

The first couple days, only like an ounce total. It took me quite a bit of time and pumping to see an increase in output. Last month, when I was working, I pumped twice a day and got about 16 ounces.

The first few days I really didnt understand how to pump, I would only pump for like 4 or 5 minutes and I would get about 1.5 oz on each side
