I've pumped like crap at work all week, and then today I pump 5 ounces in a session (my average is 2 ounces), what???
No point just pumping is annoying

Agreed! LO is 15 months and I only get 1-2 oz when I pump 1x/day, I need to just stop...

AGREE. I write to commiserate as I sit in my little pumping closet at work, doing what one does in a little pumping closet. LO is almost 7 months old, and we're still going strong--but like you, I can't predict my output for anything. It varies every single day! I'm so happy that I can do this for her, but MAN. I am counting down until the day I am not pumping/washing/prepping/etc etc etc. I feel you, mama!

@mfa_lady: yes it's my least favorite part of breastfeeding. This time around I've added a morning pump session and so I never have a day off from it.
@Adira: @nana87: @Anya: @Rockies11: thanks ladies, I'm glad I'm not alone.

Yay for "I hate pumping" thread!
Sigh I juuuust pump 8 oz which is barely enough for 2 bottles, and I have to pump it from 3 sessions! And today I already missed my morning one due to a mtg. DD is 7.5 months so I'm just trying to give her as much breastmilk as I can till 1 year...

@nana87: How are you still going?! I kinda see it though... I kept saying some days when I pump nothing to just stop, but then I keep going as long as something comes out, thinking that something is better than nothing...

@snowjewelz: yeah I pump 4 times for 3 bottles and a little extra typically half a feeding. With my son we supplemented 1 bottle of formula a week and it was so worth it. I have a better supply this time and didn't think we'd need to do that but we'll see how it goes.

i do a morning pump and get 1-1.5 measly ounces and just started a night pump last night and got 1.5.... so few ounces to be taking away from precious sleep... ugh

@snowjewelz: Ugh I don't know! Actually, I do know-- I've been working from home and pump while I eat lunch and watch Netflix, lol, so it isn't so bad

Yes, pumping IS stupid. I have a bottle of Light Blue sitting on my dresser waiting to opened as a reward when LO reaches 6 months. A couple more weeks!

@jetsa: I made it past 6 mo and started supplementing too to keep my sanity... She gets 1 bottle formula a day now but I feel soo much better knowing that the world is not ending b/c I didn't pump enough! Before I'd pump when I wake up, pump before bed, pump in the car... Anything to get extra pumping sessions in!

Yup, Pumping is stupid. We should have year long maternity leaves instead.

Haha, I love that this thread pops up when I am considering ep-ing.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@simplyfelicity: actually I think EPing would be better than just pumping for work. My supply varies because my kid doesn't understand that you should eat the exact same amount at the exact same time every single day

@simplyfelicity - I agree with @jetsa. If pumping is just what you do then it's not so bad. Going back and forth between pumping and nursing sucks. (Or at least that's my best guess. I've never exclusively pumped.)

@simplyfelicity: agreed.
Reading and commenting while in a tiny closet pumping. A closet full of creepy puppets. I work in a library, just so no one thinks that's too weird.

Just Monday and ugh ugh ugh, I want to quit. I don't make enough for daycare anyway and on top of it I just spilled 3 oz of milk all over myself
watermelon / 14467 posts
@jetsa: Spilled milk is absolutely something to cry over. I'm so sorry.
pomelo / 5220 posts
@jetsa: Ugh. Spilling is the worst -- whoever said don't cry over spilled milk clearly didn't pump!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@jetsa: Ahh I am sorry! Shedding a virtual teat for you
I ended up weaning between 9-10 months... Def felt so guilty and had to grieve but after I was like freeedoommm!

@jetsa: I had to throw out 15oz that I forgot in my diaper bag this weekend. I legit cried.

@Charm54: @jetsa: Oh no! That is terrible!
I went on a work trip and since we haven't fully weaned (he's still nursing morning and night) I still had to drag the dumb pump.
Being gone for over 48 hours and pumped 5 ox total. Yea that sucks.

@jetsa: Boo to Monday and pumping and spilling milk! I spilled an ounce all over my desk this morning and then cried a bit :crying:. I hate pumping!

Thanks ladies! I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates it. 6 more months lol

I really didn't want to EP with LO #2 but boy he had other plans for me..
pumping.. baby crying next to me.. toddler yelling mom I went poop.. this is real life folks.. for some reason no one posts that on instagram
pomelo / 5132 posts
@Mrs. Pickles: why is it that the toddler poops the second you sit down to nurse or pump?! Always.
@jetsa: today was my first day back at work and I hate pumping again.
