I am going to return to work in either August or January (still TBD), but for now, I'm home for several months with my 4-week-old. We're basically never apart, so I haven't been pumping regularly.
I do have an oversupply, so I've pumped enough that I have probably 15 bags of frozen breastmilk when I've needed to relieve the engorgement (which is finally getting better - happens less often and is less painful).
I would like to have a bit of a stash so that I can be apart from my baby sometimes, in case something happens, etc. Plus, we want my husband to be able to feed our son a bottle a day so that he's used to the bottle.
All that to say...if you're home with your baby all the time, when do you pump? I'm not apart from him for any feedings, so I'm not sure when to do it. Not to mention -- I don't want to overstimulate extra production since my supply is finally starting to even out.
What do you do? Any advice for a clueless FTM?
