I don't know which brand is the best, but I have taken three different kinds and my favorite of the three is Nature Made Prenatal Multi + DHA. I originally was taking the gummies, but then I found out they didn't have any iron and had very little DHA, so I switched to Rainbow Light. I didn't mind RL, but I found them very hard to swallow, and they also didn't have DHA. The Nature Made are softgels and are really easy to swallow. Plus they have the DHA included so I don't also have to take a DHA supplement.

I never experienced frequent urination until I was actually pregnant (and I was taking prenatals for three months before I got my BFP).

I've also tried 3 different pre-natal brands: Trader Joe's, One A Day, and Nature Made. So far, I prefer the Nature Made Multi + DHA the best! It's 1 soft gel (vs. One A Day's separate pill + soft gel) and doesn't give me a weird after-taste or burpiness. I also noticed that I am more "regular" on the Nature Made pre-natal. I get mine at Costco.

I like Rainbow Light's one a day (available at Whole Foods type places). Its a food-based vitamin so it is easier to digest and there are no chemicals.

@MamaMagpie: Basically they are compiled of vitamins extracted from food, instead of lab-created synthetic varieties. Your body recognizes food based nutrients better and it absorbs them, while the chemical versions often just sit in your stomach undigested.

The food-based vitamins are sometimes more expensive, but well worth it!

I have a RX for a prenatal. I am not pregnant yet, they are big and sometimes upset my stomach if I don't take it with a big enough meal. they cost under $5/month.

I took the target brand while pregnant and still do 9 mths pp with no issues.

I took rainbow lites until I got a prescription pre-natal. I liked it and included an ingredient for stool softener!

I take the Rainbow Light 'petite'-- 3 small pills instead of 1 big one, which is a lifesaver in the 1st trimester when I gag pretty easily. As long as I take them with food my stomach is usually fine, or, as fine as it's going to be until I'm out of the 1st trimester.

I did not really do a lot of research-- my older sister did, she is very into organic healthy stuff and she chose them and recommended them, so I just went with it.

@Mrs.Someone: It's a lot cheaper to buy them on Amazon. I did the subscribe and save thing so they automatically send them every 60 or 90 days or something, and you save another couple percentage points off the price.

@Foodnerd81: Thanks for the suggestion I did last buy them off of Amazon, but I don't like to subscribe to anything since I change my mind often!

I didn't buy a pre-natal specifically. My ob/gyn told me to add to my current vitamin regime... I was taking a daily multi-vitamin and fish oil and added folic acid and calcium/vitamin D.

@lawbee11: I love the Rainbow Light, but you're right about the DHA. I also take a vegan DHA (DEVA Vegan DHA-EPA). Being a vegetarian means gummies & anything with a gel coating is off-limits.
