I would ask for a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist RE, they are the specialist in this field and have additional training beyond ob/gyn. They are usually more up to date on research and techniques and are generally the ones who develop treatment plans. Some OBs are comfortable prescribing clomid, but not with interventions beyond that. My OB was unwilling to even prescribe clomid and so all infertility care was with an RE.

@MountainBaby: I did the initial testing through the OB. It turned out to be MFI which is why we got a RE referral, but if it's something else there may be things they can try.

I wouldn't waste any time with an ob. They are surgical specialists and have very little training in infertility. Definitely get a referral to a RE. The OBs in my practice had no experience for what I was going through and perform tests that actually confused the situation- they ran baseline testing at day 20 when it should have been CD3 and told me my FSH was fine when it wasn't. She had no concept of the menstrual cycle, it was baffling.
