This morning we brought a bag of breastmilk into daycare but my husband forgot to put it in the fridge. He left it out in the cooler bag with the ice pack all day. The bag of milk was still 80% frozen this morning.
And when I pulled it out of the cooler bag just now it was still cold.
Is it OK to still give to M tomorrow???

I think I have read that if frozen milk is slushy then it can still be considered frozen. I think I read that in an article about breastfeeding moms preparing for power outages.

Golden rule of breastmilk: if it looks okay, smells okay, tastes okay...it's fine. Your baby will let you know if it's bad.

If it were in the cooler bag with an ice pack all day- yes I would use it. Especially if it still feels cool.

Yes, it is still ok to use! Frozen breastmilk, if used within 24 hours (if completely thawed) is safe. Yours isn't even un-thawed all the way so you are more than good.

Thank you!!!! My frozen stash is all of 10 ounces so I would hate to throw it out. I will make sure they give that bag first tomorrow!
